If you go into a branch of any other bank and transfer your banking to them, just ask if you can have an introductory bonus. I did that with Halifax when I opened a Reward account and got £50, as well as my £5 monthly reward.
I did that with Halifax when I opened an account and got £100, as well as my £5 monthly reward. Now Nationwide only offers an cash card basic account, maybe just a gimmick to get you signed on with no obligation to pay you the reward.

No FlexAccount no £50 bonus? no thanks then.
    Vodafone sucks.

Lifted all 3 recent ones, but the important thing is to participate - same as the Olympics motto.;)
I am sure there others around here as well.

Is this supposed to answer my question?

They've transferred my only standing order over which is much faster than I expected, and have received a letter today saying that it's now complete etc... Now that this standing order is with the Nationwide (and considering I only set it up for the switch) can I now cancel it without breaking the terms and conditions?

Edit: Just noticed that Guy's first post was made in August. He must be able to predict the future...!

No he can't predict the future this is the second time they have run this promotion.

I think you can cancel the standing order but I'd leave it intact until you get the money just in case.

Not necessary. Just ignore the salary transfer form.

How long do they take to transfer the account as mine is almost 4 weeks and nothing has been transfered yet. Don't know how to plan ahead as no ideal which acount the payments are going to come out of.

Mine was done in less than a week.
I would call them and ask.

I'd like to know when they are going to stop shafting their existing long term customers ..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
