oohhh long distance - it's such a drag!! every holidays we get (up to june 2011)are gonna be spent driving up to scotland, looking around weddingy things, deciding things.
well we went up at christmas. looked at the venue, which looks lovely, except it was covered in snow - so it did look picturesque but were gonna go back for a look in the summer hols, so we know what it'll look like in june.
i went to another wedding dress shop, still nothing i like, although i've found two shops to look at in summer which seem like they might have dresses i'll like.
we went round the kilt shops and picked up brochures. think OH will try them on in the summer.
and we talked to the guy who will b doing our photographs to sort things out with him
oooh and we got an amazing bargain in the xmas sales. we were having a wander round the shops, and i was showing mum the type of ring i thought i would like for my wedding band. (platinum, 4mm, shiny finish with matt inlay) we saw one at £700. but was just trying to show her an example. anyway, walked past H. Samuels, and just had a peek in their window and saw it - my ring!!! it was on sale too. so went in, tried it on, and it fitted. it was tiny, but my hands are small, so i felt very lucky that day. my perfect ring for £249. god, if only finding a dress was that easy. i smiled for the rest of that day!!
so i guess slowly things are taking shape.
We sent out Save the Dates with our christmas cards. must put a pic on here of them to show you - they are so cute.
next on my list is to look for a band/DJ, and hopefully book within the next month, and i'm also sorting out my arts and crafts list so i see what i need to buy off ebay to start crafting.
hope your all getting on well:heartsmil Getting Married 11th June 2011 to the lovely Graham:heartsmilWedding/honeymoon fund so far £69000 -
Hi June 2011 brides (and grooms) please can I join you?
I originally joined the September 2010 thread but we've had to put it back as we just don't think we'll be able to afford a wedding this year. But it's okay, i'm quite glad i've got a long time to plan it, means I can relax and enjoy it a bit more.
I've just set up a wedding blog so when I post something on it, i'll put the link and if anybody wants to read it, they can. Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

hello hayley. welcome to june 2011 brides. i know what you mean about putting the wedding back! i always keep worrying in my head if we'll have enough time to save etc. i think we'll get by. we just have to have a bit of simple living for the next year and a half.
have started delving in to brochures and magazines ive been collecting for the past 6 months, and this weekend we're off to scotland on the plane, so that'll give me a bit of time to sit looking through all my notes and start a bit of list making - where would a be without my lists!!!:heartsmil Getting Married 11th June 2011 to the lovely Graham:heartsmilWedding/honeymoon fund so far £69000 -

Hi girls
I'd love to join you all, if you'll have me?
We are getting married on the 11th June 2011.
We have booked the venue, it's a beautiful place called Hargate Hall in Derbyshire, just near Buxton.
It's a bit unique in the fact that we will have the whole place from 4pm friday 10th until 10am monday 13th, with the ceremony on the saturday.
The building is gorgeous as are the 7+ acres of land that surround it.
Within the building are 12 self catering apartments that in total sleep 77 people with a main room in the centre of the building where the ceremony will be held.
So now we're just trying to work out who will stay for the whole weekend and who can bunk up with who.
We're saving as we go, so I'm having to be very sensible and not book everything now lol.
I haven't even started to look at dresses yet as I am very unhappy with my weight, so I'm saving that one until the end of this year/ beginning of next I think.
Really looking forward to sharing it all with you all.

hey girlies,
i am getting married on 24th June next year. Am ver excited already!
We got engaged in november, and thought would be a long engagemtn - needed to move, redundancy etc, but deceided we going to do what we can to have our wedding next year as we both want it badly. We got engaged in disneyland paris, so there going to be a disney theme through the day - not in your face sort, but its going to be easy to see.
We have an appointment on 29th june at the registry office to pay and formally get booking up, we are pencilled in but cant be done till a year before etc. We have booked the venue too - another essex girl here!! we are going to be at the local rugby club.
I intend to do invites, cake and flowers myself, am going to be getting bits along the months.
i wont be looking to do the outfits for everyone till next year - have a tonne of weight to loose still so thats giving me a good time to get the ball rolling!
we have a lot of ideas and things we would like, so it will now be a case of steadily buying and sorting etc. am loving looking on ebay for things and getting ideas too.
Our colours are hot pink and orange though)
we have quotes for food in the day, and next thing is to look for quotes for the buffet in the evening.
I am so excited though, no one knows apart from me and OH. he made the phone call this morning to the registry office, its my bday today so going for dinner with our mums/bro/sis etc, so going to break the news we have booked it then!!) :T
:heart2:Married my Prince Charming on 15th April 2011 - perfect day!
Our little princess born 8th June - she is amazing!! :grinheart
