i think thats a great idea. the cadbury purple should match in to your theme - sounds like its gonna be a purpley june! well done picklepick, you do sound very organised. I'm going to be getting little wooden hearts which i will paint white with a purple border. will attach tartan ribbon to it, and on one side i'll write our names and the date of our wedding. not sure what to put on the other side yet, maybe thanks for coming. the people who have roles at the wedding will get a slightly bigger heart with "thank you for being our bridesmaid" or something similar to that. i'll pop the favour into a handbag shaped box and this is going to also be the persons place name to.:heartsmil Getting Married 11th June 2011 to the lovely Graham:heartsmilWedding/honeymoon fund so far £69000

Hi Picklepink
Im from Walsall so not far from you.
Im not sure if you're interested but iv got 100yrds purple ribbon and 19 purple ribbon bows you can have. I ordered some pink and the Ebay shop sent the wrong colour but told me it wasnt worth me sending them back to them so they're just sitting on shelf in my dining room. As long as you cover the postage you can have them.
PM me if you want them. (Its a dark purple)

i've pm'ed you! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
i've done a little bit since i last posted here but we're not sure about the whole thing now as we have taken a drop in pay that we werent expecting, so we are waiting til the new year to actually book things to see how the money situation evens out! we have decided to go for the holiday inn £1000 deal though at our local holiday inn, and pricing everything up we think its going to come in at around £2500 which isnt bad and will hopefully be affordable for us! that doesnt include a photographer though and we're not quite sure what we're going to do about that, we were thinking of asking at our local college if a student needed a project but were worried that they might c0ck it up!!
i'm jealous of all of you getting things done when i have to waiti've picked the dress, flowers, BM's dresses, venue, colour scheme, cake, i just need to buy it all and set it in motion and the waiting is killing me!!

i know what you mean about waiting. i'm stuck in essex and really want to organise all my bits up in scotland! we only just booked the venue a few weeks ago, because i'd started emailing round the venues we had shortlisted, and a lot of them were starting to get booked up quickly. My venue had a wedding fayre on one weekend so my mum went to it, and i gave her a list of dates and told her to just provisionally book it. we really like the look of it from the website, mum has told me its fab, and we get to see it in xmas. i saw it a few years ago but its been really done up since then.
for our photographer, we are getting one of my mums best friends husbands. He enjoys photography, so we'll get him to take plenty pics, and then we're going to try and get the guests pics, and we can make an album from that. my OH is brill on stuff like photoshop and we can make the photos look good from our own computer programmes - we just cant take them ourselves! i really do not want to pay a pro photographer - they charge a bomb. we just need someone to take pics, then we can do the rest:heartsmil Getting Married 11th June 2011 to the lovely Graham:heartsmilWedding/honeymoon fund so far £69000 -
i had thought about getting someone i know to take them, one of the BM's BF has a good camera and is a decent photographer, and the same for my dad and stepmum, but i didnt want them to be more the photographer than part of the day IYSWIM? i could always ask all of them to take loads of pics i suppose. i am going to do the disposable cameras on the table thing too, and was thinking of getting blank CD's and enveloping them up nicely (if there is such a thing!) and writing a note to say if people have taken photos on a digital camera to please write them onto the disk and send them to us after as well. i definitely agree that a pro just isnt necessary!Mummy to

with a few shades of pale pink, and a touch of gold and ivory for good measure!
What are you having for favours? We're thinking of getting some miniature dairy milk bars and putting them in ivory organza bags. I've designed a little monogram for our stationery and i thought i might add it to the drawstring of each bag.
Do people think thats a bit naff? I wasnt sure. I love cadbury though!
Purples are really popular and look so beautiful!! heres some ideas for your flowers, they are all silk
Most popular colours at the moment are Purple, Burgundy, Red & Gold and Turqiouse (spelling?!)Yes im disabled....yes I can do things you cant....but you can do things I cant so were equal!0 -
I was originally a June 2011 bride but when looking at venue got offered a cancellation slot at a good deal and its a gorgeous venue so now a August 2010 bride0

Hello everyone! I am also going to be a June 2011 bride although the date isn't set in stone..
We live in Essex and got engaged December 2008 and so far I have done pretty much nothing!
We are visiting a few venues in the next 2/3 weeks. Dress has been chosen but not paid for! Bridesmaid dresses have been chosen but not paid for and we have half a ton of Goldsmiths vouchers for the rings but haven't chosen the rings yet and that's about it!
All of our savings went on the house we just bought so no weddings funds available yet but I really want to book everything, it's so fustrating!
My friend did buy me a wedding planning book for christmas though so I can busy myself filling it in!0 -
Hi ladies, hows everyones planning going?
We went to the Jewellery quarter after xmas and got some wedding ring bargains! I have a 3mm white gold band and h2b has a palladium 5mm band, both for £300!!! woo hoo i was so chuffed. We were originally quoted £800 but haggled it down to 300 at the 4th shop we went in. We're going to collect them in Feb.
I'm also waiting for delivery of my Register Office ceremony dress, it should be here tomorrow. We're having 2 weddings you see.... the legal part with just our parents present, and a big chapel blessing and marquee reception with 100 people 2 days later. So this dress is for my legal wedding. Its from Littlewoods, was £200 but i got it for £40 in the sale and with a discount code! im so excited to try it on!!!
Trouble is, ive ordered a 10 and a 12 and im hoping ill have lost some weight to fit in a 10 by the time we get married.. sooooo question is... do i just get the 10 and hope to lose the weight or do i get a 12 and then ill be !!!!!!ed if its too big??
Hope everyones plans are going well. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0
