i tell a lie, i've decided on our local registry office and written a list of the people i want at the actual ceremony, but we dont want to set a date in stone until we have decided on a reception venue! and thats the stumbling block, i have no idea where to have it or where to find somewhere to have it!!Mummy to

hello june brides. just been readin may 2011 brides thread, and im dead jealous - they seem to have so much done!!
mind you - if i actually lived anywhere near where i'm going to get married, i might actually have it all planned now!! (i love planning!!)
unfortunately, it's going to all have to done when we get little hols and breaks. so our xmas break will be spent looking at venues (if they are open) and trying on kilts for my OH.
My mum is coming down to visit in october and im going to try on dresses to see what style looks nice on me (then ordering it on landy/milly!!)
really keen on making a start on invites, save the dates, general arty stuff but dont really want to do it till we've set the date properly. i have a date in mind, but till i know i can get a venue for that date, then i dont really want to say it - i feel like i'll just jinx it - lol!!:heartsmil Getting Married 11th June 2011 to the lovely Graham:heartsmilWedding/honeymoon fund so far £69000 -
Hey all! I'm gonna be another June 2011 bride
Just got engaged last week after 7 years together!! We're gonna need a bit of time to save up yet though so we're hoping to marry on 15th June 2011. I was keen on an autumn wedding but OH wanted early spring so we've settled on June as a compromise...I cannot wait!!
So far we've decided on the church but not the reception venue. OH has picked ushers and his best man but I'm still deciding on who I would like as bridesmaids as I don't have any close female relatives. I know what dress I want (Dolly Couture!) but I'm not going to order til end of next year as I'm hoping to lose some weight before then. I also know which photographer I'd like and have a fair idea of flowers. Gonna start working out a rough guest list soon so we can start looking a reception venues.
I don't think I'm gonna start booking things til after the new year as I'd like to shop around first and see what we can get in our budget. The date were aiming for is a Wednesday so I think we should be okay with regards to availability etc.
Aaaarrggghh I'm just sooooooo excited!!! Good luck with all your planning other June '11 brides (and grooms!) Its so nice to hear what you're all planning X0 -
congrats sparklylime.
i keep thinking i've got ages to do stuff, but i really think a year and a half will pass quick!!
we've still not really organised much. we are down in essex, heading up to scotland at xmas so gettin a list of venues together to visit at xmas. OH can try on kilts then, and hopefully we can go and look at cars too, but we cant do much about the date till we book the venue. i dont really want to tempt fate by naming a date then we cant get our venue for that date - that'd just be my luck!! i have a date in mind but will wait till we book to announce it, and sent out save the dates!
i'm very crafty, but currently sorting out xmas stuff, so after xmas, i'll be busy with wedding stuff after xmas - stationery, jewellery tiara/hair bits, cake topper, flowers.....:heartsmil Getting Married 11th June 2011 to the lovely Graham:heartsmilWedding/honeymoon fund so far £69000 -
I'm hoping to do a lot of homemade/crafty type things for our wedding too but I'm not going to start making things til we have at least booked the church and found/booked a reception venue. I'm enjoying gathering ideas at the moment - looking at designs to make my own invites, place cards etc. Gonna get a scrap book together other the next couple of weeks to put all my ideas in one place and see how my colours and ideas actually look on paper.
Has anyone else got a colour scheme/ theme sorted? I have about 5 in my head so really not sure what to go with but I guess it depends on what the venue looks like when we find it.
I agree being so far away it still doesn't quite feel real but I bet the time soon flies by so I best get cracking with planning some stuff!0 -
our colour scheme is purple (cadbury purple), lilac, and dark green.
i'll be going with either white or ivory, and my metal colour will be silver.
flowers are thistles and white roses (thistle for scottish me and roses for english OH)
we will also have tartan running through things such as bouquets, table centre pieces, favour and stationary. hoping for spirit of scotland tartan. OH is trying some on at xmas when we head up to scotland.:heartsmil Getting Married 11th June 2011 to the lovely Graham:heartsmilWedding/honeymoon fund so far £69000 -
hello, just thought i'd update and see how everyone is getting on.
Well, we've finally booked our Venue, woo hoo, and also our humanist celebrant. so thats a few things sorted.
not sure what to do next, but i think after christmas is over i'll be making big list and starting to get organised - I'm a big crafter, and trying to save lots for the wedding, so everyone is getting handcrafted gifts this year, so i'll be busy right up until xmas, but after that i'm free to plan wedding (and start on wedding crafts)
Have been to try dresses on, and took along my mum and mother-in-law (she has 3 boys, and i wanted to get her involved in our wedding as i dont think other 2 daughter in laws did!)
found two really lovely ones, but WAY too expensive, so will be having a look at scottish shops and in xmas sales for a cheaper dress!
But not much i can do till christmas, when we will be viewing our venue, looking for a dress, and getting my OH to try on kilts and see how he feels in them.
Ooh, i'm also sending out save the dates with christmas cards (save on postage) will pop a picture on here when we have finished them - OH is making cartoon versions of us for the picture on it, and we'll print them off, laminate them, then attach a magnet strip on the back so people can pop them on the fridge!
hope everyone elses planning is going well:heartsmil Getting Married 11th June 2011 to the lovely Graham:heartsmilWedding/honeymoon fund so far £69000 -
Add meeeeee!!
We get married on the 18th of June 2011. I'm a brummie girl, OH is from leeds and we live in Manchester. Weird! We've decided to get married near Brum as thats where all my family and most of our friends still live.
I'm little miss organised and i lurve writing lists!!
So far we have booked the venue, paid a deposit on the photographer, the one we wanted was already booked for our date and this ones our second choice. He also had loads of weekends in 2011 already booked so im glad we got in there quick!
I've also ordered my dress and paid for half of it! That was the first thing i did! haha
We're going to be making our own invites so we'll be starting on that after xmas. We've got 65 to make from scratch, i have a feeling its going to take a year so i wanna get started and also spread the cost of the printer ink out a bit
We've ordered our save the dates from vistaprint. They're little magnets and look fantastic. We got 50 for free just had to pay for the postage. Do you think its too early to send these yet?
Thats it i think for now. I told you i was little miss organised! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Clareypinkfairy, our colour scheme is purple aswell!
with a few shades of pale pink, and a touch of gold and ivory for good measure!
What are you having for favours? We're thinking of getting some miniature dairy milk bars and putting them in ivory organza bags. I've designed a little monogram for our stationery and i thought i might add it to the drawstring of each bag.
Do people think thats a bit naff? I wasnt sure. I love cadbury though! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0
