You have to have your banns read if you're getting married in a church, thats the same as giving notice in a registry office

Right, that makes sense now! I was a little confused that we might have to do both in both the place we live & where we're getting married!
  • Hey everyone, hope you are all doing ok!

I have had a productive feew weeks - me and OH went to ikea last weekend and got the remainder of bowls etc we needed for sweeetie bar, orange n white and oink n white striped paper bags came in post today - we got all the bits (excluding sweets!) for £21.98 so am chuffed with that - all the bows/glases will be used again at home or used for presents - think could be a few 'cake in jar' presents floating around at xmas!! lol.
Also adapted some vista print business cards to go with our favors - seed paper - so has a little poem on it and a message with instructions, 250 for £3.48 or something! lol.

Matalan have a sale on their summer garden bits, so we got a pink and orange metal lantern with butterflies cut out on them - £1 each. Also very pleased as we cant have candels in the venue, so was going to hunt for battery tealight candles... popped into town this morning, wandered in £1land - and there they were !! £1 for pack of four, so am pleased as they are perfect!!
good idea if any of you want candles and cant have lit ones. they look really nice in the lanterns; and it 'flickers' too! lol :)

Also trip to dunelm mill to get some more gerberas for my BM flowers i got a small bunch of really pretty white roses; so with orange and pink gerberas around the edge and some bling added i have my boquet!! am very very happy about that!!

Printed lots of disney colouring pages from the disney website (for free!) too so each of my little guests are going to be given a plastic wallet with pages of colours and crayons!

Am very excited now as we can all say its 10 months and so many days now!!
    hope everyone is ok. x

OH works every weekend and it very rare to have one day off at weekend let alone 2! so we made the most last weekend which was why done quite a bit, we tlaked bout things to order etc. also had a BBQ with all our wedding party people - was really good night apart from fact OH has no best man now as a result from it. :(
but we got a lot organised from ikea and was up early going round everywhere!! Its nice having time with him, just wish didnt always have to cram everything in to one day in a month!

haha yes, there is something quite relaxing about colouring in!
Hope everything is going okay with the best man situation... my fella aint having one, and we arent having a Cheif bridesmaid either. Just 3 groomsmen and 3 maids.
  • I not technically got a cheif BM - just said they all as imprtant as each other and i wouldnt been able to pick! OH did 3 groomsmen/ushers (he changes mind on what calls them all time! lol)
and best man, but its all up in air now :o(

Am gutted, and he is devestated over it all.
Long long story short - got everyone round for bbq so all get to know each other better - my maids all do as best mates n sister, the boys do too as OH friends - but not many meets all together and their OH's not been around at time before either so it was so no one felt left out at wedding, got to know each other have and fun! we didnt have engagement party or much of a fuss, no house warming earlier this year, my bday was bit non existant so wanted have a fun time all rolled into one!
best man gf is v.shy and even though i am shy to i have trouble talking to her...she is on the verge of being rude with it as just doesnt answer back. well bbq booked for over a month so every1 free; they told us had babysitter so would bring kids until bout 7, take em home and come back on their own we knew this from first talked bout arranging it too.
though they never came back; OH had a text message saying their cat not well and needed vet appointment....then found out on facebook they went out for the night into town.
There were lies to OH, and all this stuff BM gf saying about no one talking to her was a joke and she didnt feel welcome; not sure how cos i know that people were talking to her, but when 1 word answers arent much of a conversation starter! she had met everyone before as well, so werent all new people! Made a point of telling her she could come talk to me in kitchen as didnt know the others properly (i was sorting food bits out untill we were eating) and her excuse was couldnt leave little on (7months) in pushchair asleep on her own cos she needs to be around her.... yet was fine go have a fag at end of garden and leave her.
Just livid with it, BM made no effort with OH since he joined a different evening football team few months back, we never see them cos they cancel when things arranged. :o( OH is gutted cos of the lies - in total we have had 4 different reasons why they didnt come back after taking kids home. OH said now he wishes never asked Mr X to be BM at all, so i hope he can decide what doing and be happier. We lost a page boy too in the process.
sorry - guess that was still a long story!!
am just still very angry with the situation as they dont think did anything wrong.

    sorry for the rant everyone!!!
hope you all having a good weekend.
