Thanks... I've decided that's what I will do. There's been mention of involving my MP but I didn't see there was much he'd be able to do to change the law in the old case. It'll be different though if they f*ck up with my next case coz it'll not be about the law, as you say more about their lazy cba attitude!

I can't believe how much better I feel about closing the case, I feel like I can get on with things now and get used to living off what money we have.

Thanks to everyone for the advice/support. you've been fantastic :A

Indeed, but at least you have more chance of the legislation being applied correctly.

Thats the problem with this lot, the legislation can be well intentioned but the idiots manage to screw it right up and interpret and apply it to the wrong people.

I strongly urge you to take the MP route, i know a lot of battle hardened PWC's would offer the same advice ! :)
  • I agree, I think if you can stand it anymore then I would battle on. Its not that you are in the wrong you are just trying to get your ex to contribute which he should be doing!

Hope it works out better for you on CS2

Thankyou! My friend went that route too and has told me if I don't make an appointment then she will be. I will though.
For now though I'm going to spend the next 13 weeks thinking about anything other than the CSA. That's provinding everything goes smoothly with the closing of the case. I can dream!

On the other hand she's come to the conclusion herself that her biological father is a complete waste of space and doesn't ever want to speak to him again.
With absolutely no influence from you

Hi, Just to give you a bit of hope. I've just managed to close an old case and open a new CS2 case. I have had two payments for a reasonable amount of maintenance and hopefully this will continue (although I'm not counting my chickens .....) It has taken almost a year to do and has been very time consuming and frustrating, but it can be done!

My advice is don't be fobbed off with the 'computer says no' excuse that they keep telling you. That computer seems to be the cause of every problem.

At the first sign of any delay put in a complaint. I found that every time I complained they appeared to work on my case a little bit quicker and it also meant that a specific case worker was dealing with my case so I got the same person each time I called.

Also, if after the first 13 weeks you are told to wait another 13 weeks before opening a new case (because the computer can't deal with it) DO NOT WAIT!!!! I did this and lost £1300 of maintenance payments because I was advised that I would get compensation for the delay and all I got was £25. Insist on going higher and higher with each request/complaint and don't let them fob you off. You have to be persistant.

    Good luck.

Thanks Debicj. Fingers crossed for your maintenance continuing with no more problems :)

Hopfully I won't, but if I do have trouble with csa when I try open my new case I shall have another read over this thread and all the advice/support will help me again.

After receiving a phone call in the week to say I'd no longer be getting any payments and then getting a letter saturday morning to say I've been over paid by 1 weeks maintenance... I've just been on my internet banking and I've got another payment from them. Don't know their flippin @rses from their elbows

So far, having done the rounds in a number of offices, I have found that most staff have been reasonable. It may be counterproductive to say that actually, most male staff at the CSA have been more than helpful.

However, my dealings with Bolton over the last couple of months have made me think less of the CSA and its staff, and I wonder if the office you refer to is the same, 'cos I was kinda thinking lately that it was a bit of a dyke-joint!

    What's a dyke-joint?
