    Thanks for that BB

I know exactly how you feel ... "your whole life dictated by other people" this is the reason I will be glad when we dont pay her anymore. We will be able to have what we want and not get csa letters because we wanted to change the family car lol who just can reason anymore. Sadly, I too am becoming bitter and twisted as this whole charade unfolds.

Some dim wit at Bolton told me this morning that because my kids go to hers for one night a week, I am not entitled to anything!

My ex is like that too, dragging me into and out of court at a whim, because she gets Legal Aid. You are right ... sometimes you are better off having nothing!

Thats tough that is, I can see that though, if shes on benefits and only pays the minimum 5 quid then the kids being at hers does cancel it out, its still a !!!! take.

I have to wait another 10 years before I get away from the clutches of the CSA.

She is simply not going to pay anything, and will quite happily live of benefits, rather than support her own children. Please don't get me wrong, I am not bothered about getting money off her, it's the principle that matters here.

It does bother me though, that if she does decide to go back to work, according to thickb1tch at Bolton CSA this morning, it is up to her to notify them that she has returned to work. Aye likely! So, am I supposed to stalk her 'til I find out where she may be working? Bloody joke really!

We are on CSA1. at the moment we pay directly no csa involvement for now. but I know what shes like and at any time she feels like it she is very likely to go to the csa even though we give her money. I accept thats the way we will live until the child is 20ish.

step son is 14 so if he decides to leave school at 16 and get a job we will be shot of our malicious b1tch in 24 months:j. For us because child is 14 he will leave school at 16 and we pay if he continues in education until he's 19 so worst case scenario 6 yrs to go. I feel like i've got over the top of the mountain and i'm coming down the other side now.

I have a cousin who has a 1yr old with a right piece of work when his child goes to school it wont leave until I think its 18 now, so it could be worse:D

Typical of the csa to not explain why you would have to pay it back/not bother explaining what payments were due.

Without knowing much about your case it is hard to give a definate answer either way. I will give you a few pointers though.

Look at when the nil assessment was effective, compared to the date it was sent. Sometimes the csa are very quick to issue nil assessments, so quick there are still payments due to you. Next look at what your previous payment schedule said - anything due to you before the effective nil assessment date is yours, anything within a week later is usually also due to you or part of it is (on the basis it usually takes a week for them to transfer payments).

Thanks for that LizzieS, I'll get my forms out and have a look.

enemes I'd query that decision too as I know nicnacnoo's NRP who pay's the £5pw also has her child overnight. I am also with you about the money, that's really not what's bothering me atall, it's the principle. I just don't seem to be able to grasp how the CSA can tell somebody they don't have to pay for their child because they 'can't afford it' It's an absolute joke.

It's terrible some people are just in it for the money, I feel I've had quite alot from NRP and I've often thought if we could be amicable I'd do it just between us at a lower amount, but that wasn't possible.

I think she is in it for the 'game'! She loves ducking and diving. Packing in jobs when the CSA catch up with her and enforcing a DEO, lying to the kids about where she would be working, going on long term sick, rather than pay her share ... GOD, they are her bloody kids too!

A poxy fiver would go a long way to paying my petrol costs to take and return the kids from their visits though!

Is nicnacnoo on CSA1 or 2?

She's on CS2 but I noticed on your thread what somebody (i think shell_) said about your ex being on benefits. Nicnacnoo's NRP works so it must be different.

Some people are just impossible to deal with. At least from being on here you know you're not on your own. I know it doesn't make your situation any easier but I hope it makes you feel less alone about it all.

Thanks for that ... I have over the years found this forum both informative and supportive, as well as humorous ( sometimes), but have been reassured on numerous occassions that I am certainly not alone. My first thread ( http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=518465 ) rambled on since its conception in August 2007! It details the highs and lows of dealing with the CSA, and hopefully others will be able to learn from all our experiences wether we are an NRP or a PWC.

I suggest thickb1tch gets off her @rse and does the leg work.

I have it on good authority that at least one CSA office is institutionally sexist.

This sort of thing only confirms it.

So far, having done the rounds in a number of offices, I have found that most staff have been reasonable. It may be counterproductive to say that actually, most male staff at the CSA have been more than helpful.

However, my dealings with Bolton over the last couple of months have made me think less of the CSA and its staff, and I wonder if the office you refer to is the same, 'cos I was kinda thinking lately that it was a bit of a dyke-joint!

As she has been served with a DEO, the CSA are correct - it is her responsibility to inform them of the next job. If she fails to inform them then they can fine her £1000 (no you wouldn't get the £1000, but then we've never seen any instances on here of the csa using this power either). If you get any idea she is working again - inform the csa in writing and demand they re-assess.
