My ex has been nill assessment for the past 4ish years. I came on here and started a thread about how my ex doesnt have to pay child support to me but he has to pay arrears off to the Government. It was in that thread that I found out about closing old rulings down and opening new rulings.
From what I have been told under new CSA2 rules a parent without care cant be awared nil assessment.
Good luck[/
I have a 10 year old child, she received no suport for 6 years  then just a diabolical 2.70 a week for the last 3 years (Dad in full time work with no other children at home!!!). I closed my old CSA1 case down, waited the 13 weeks and am now on the new system with my daughter now receiving a much fairer amount, the CSA were very helpful moving me on to the new system. Don't give up...........0 -
Thanks Fiona, I can't believe your ex paid so little!!
Well CSA phoned me today to let me know that I'd not receive anymore payments from them.
I think I will go onto CS2 and just wondering if anyone knows of any downsides to doing this?

Well I closed my case today. I cried (i'm not too sure why)
Just going to have to wait 13 weeks now until I open the next one although they said because he has arrears owing to the secretary of state there might be problems setting the next case up. I just can't be @rsed anymore.Initial Debt July 2020 - £6,772.80

I'm so pleased you have closed the old CSA1 rulings down and gone with a new case.
Only bit of advice I can give you, just make sure they follow this timeline
http://www.csa.gov.uk/en/case/hows-my-application.asp
I havent come across a problem with the arrears my ex owes. From what I could make out, he would be given a time frame (2 years) to pay the arrears off, whilst still making child support payments. But then I'm not in contact with him:D so cant find out if that was the case:rotfl:
I also remember the words of my friends, but I would rather have enemies than friends like youwould like to make it known that ZubeZubes avvy is a DHN, she's not dancing

For this read " We can't be @rsed to do our job properly ".
You need to escalate this and involve your MP. Get the idiots doing what they are employed for.
The only " problem " is that some fool decided to buy a computer system that can't add 2 and 2 together. Thats not your concern. Badger them with the help of your MP and see the difference it makes.0
