Hi I rang W/F person I spoke to said there were reasons I couldn't have a combi but having spoke to a plumber I believe they just fobbed me off. Received quote for work £617 for materials and £2208 installation costs. Have just seen something similar to this on another forum. I am going to write letter stating I'm not happy and also requesting another installer. If I could afford to buy boiler I wouldn't even bother with W/F. Their attitude seems to be you're getting a new boiler so we will dictate what you get. This is my house and I should have a choice as to what is installed even if it is on a grant.:mad:0

We were assessed last week. seems we qualify dure to being on DLA despite the fact that we are working. However they won't replace our boiler as it is still working, never mind that it is about 30 years old and often goes wrong. Seems we can call them for repairs and if it can't be repaired then we will get a new boiler. so all we get are some low energy light bulbs which we don't need but will be useful as spares.
I wonder how long it will take them to arrange repairs ? I think I'd be happier with the exisiting insurance which I know works I don't want to be waiting three weeks for a repair.

hi,
just to post we have had an excellent service with warmfront. We did not have central heating and as i am on maternity leave and going back to work part time and my husband is a student nurse it took us within the limit who would qualify.
We contacted them in august and they assessed us and then a surveyor came round about a month later.
The central heating and new boiler has now been fitted to an excellent standard and it was work which was covered by the grant equalling £2700.00.
They did suggest we should have loft insulation and draught proofing but we will have to pay for this ourselves as the whole grant of up to £2700.00 has been used up with the central heating.
I think its brilliant as we could not afford central heating and its nice to know that we are getting a little bit of our taxes back in the form of central heating since neither of us have ever claimed benefit and have paid a lot of tax to the govemernment (we have both worked and paid tax for over 20 years)
Its nice to know there is a scheme that doesn;t just help people on benefits.
i would recommend warmfront to everyone.0 -
Another 'thumbs-up' to Warmfront, for their excellent and helpful service and advice. We applied for a grant, and from that moment, until the work was done, was just 6 weeks - this, in a period where their contractors were very busy. They also sent energy-saving bulbs to us and visited a week later to finish off the water jacket work (they didn't bring the jacket, first-time round). They also got an advisor to call us, regarding other benefits we could claim, and to say they went the extra yard would be an understatement. It might be helpful to note that if our boiler breaks down within the next couple of years, Warmfront will replace this, free of charge also. Recommended. Freephone too - so call and see if you are eligible. It's 4 In The Morning :j0
