ickle suggestion... can we have 2 pigsback threads please mse? one simply for answers, clickthroughs, comps etc and the other a free-for-all?
i have just had to trawl through dozens of pages of bickering, questions for darragh, bickering, piggy eurovision entries, more bickering and oh yes yet more bickering to find 4 or 5 useful up-to-date links to pigsback
i do appreciate that this is an open forum and give my heartfelt thanks to the people who post answers and advice as i rarely have the time, but when i AM short of time and have to trawl through all that stuff that is related to pigsback but not at all to me, well i may selfishly get impatient
i do often read the extra stuff and join in sometimes BUT a separate thread for those of us who don't have the time and sometimes want to simply do the pigsback stuff without having to read about so-and-so's granny who didn't get her vouchers 3 days ago or an off topic essay cos someone mentioned the word pig and it reminded them about kevin bacon (ok so i made them up... but u get the gist!) would be very much appreciated.
this isn't a rant.... it's just a suggestion cos tonight i'm sooo tired of wading through0 -

I've already put this forward once.

I think a few others have tried also.0 -
Jailhouse babe: Thanks for the answers!
slinks and jimmyjim_uk, the idea for 2 pigsback thread has been mooted many times. I think it's been decided to keep it as one thread because someone may post a question on one thread and if they don't get a reply repost it on the other thread. We already have enough problems with multiple postings on one thread, imagine two! The thread doesn't often have this many posts in 2 days but darragh had a fantastic competition going and a few people have decided to keep discussing something that now's not much to do with the original post.0 -

Sadly I am partially to blame for introducing Darragh to MSE as shortly after I joined PB I also noticed that PB was being dissed a lot here on MSE.
i contacted Darragh and we spoke about what was going on and he offered to come on here and try to help settle matters that were being discussed.
If my memory serves me correct he probably solves around 95% of questions thrown at him pretty quickly, which, considering the volume of mail he recieves here at MSE, is a pretty good effort considering that this is only one of his responsibilities.
I think the way Darragh conducts himself here really cant be criticised and I have never really seen him "pnic" or "stress" under the workload.
The important thing about this forum is that people should be able to "discuss" their thoughts as long as they are not directed at any one individual.
I think if we looked at the customer service secotr as a whole, we should be grateful that PB (via Darragh) is prepared to open himself up for so much extra work through MSE.
Lets face it, things could be a lot worse...........

This is an open forum, and we live in a democractic, free country - people have the right to say what they want (of course in line with the MSE rules)
If someone wants to think Pigsback is great, that Darragh should be the next Prime Minister, that every 4th word on PB.com when read backwards reveals the location of the Holy Grail....then they can think that
If another person wants to think that Pigsback is rubbish, that Darragh is the spawn of the devil and that when you read the Pigsback conditions backwards it praises Satan...then they can think that as well
And of course, person A can disagree with person B - and vice-versa. But they don't have the right to tell each other that they can't think those thoughts, or freely express their opinions
I think it's pretty obvious that there's not going to be an agreement on this "issue" - but that's fine. The thing that keeps democracy going, and sets us aside from the savages, is our ability to debate, to challenge and to argue
But enough is enough, this is now going round and round and round in circles. Please, for the love of all that is good in the world, stop this now and let's move on. Please.....

thanks for the input
i understand the implication of having two threads but if it is made clear to mse users by title that one is the "Pigsback Answers Only" thread and one is the "Pigsback Anything Goes Except For Answers!!!" thread then surely people here have the common sense to post in the correct one thread out of two?!
if they don't have common sense then there's a 50% chance of them posting in the right thread anyway lol
Plus... it could be clearly labelled "DOUBLE POSTINGS ACROSS BOTH THREADS WILL BE TIED UP, BLINDFOLDED, SHOT AND DUMPED IN A NEARBY QUARRY..."
if there is an mse'er who admins pigsback surely they could police the two anyway and delete the double postings?
it really seems like the only sensible option with regards pigsback posts.0 -
I was initially sceptical about an answers thread and a discussion thread but having read reams and reams of pointless waffle I think the time has come
We need two threads, we need them now, this is going downhill by the day and now you can flick through 4-5 pages before you find any link to the pigsback site.
but as for Eurovision,
I propose the album be entitled
"Pork this way" by Aerosmith0 -

Much as we would like everyone to be wonderful and sensible, not everyone has the patience to wait for their answers and they always hope that someone will be along to help them out.
Once a kind person helps out a person on the wrong thread it will all go downhill from there...
The Boots Grabbit thread was split up because of something similar (I don't really post or read much of it) but we like the Pigsback thread to be all nice and friendly right? :T0 -
Morning all!!
Lets start a nice happy day.
The sun is up, the birds are singing and our lovely (single) thread is still here and running.
Lets try and keep it that way?2 angels in heaven :A0
