...You're the only one who seems to take Darraghd's post responding to an earlier ongoing topic in this thread so personally, why's that?

I don't. I would have made exactly the same point to an employee of any other company who appeared on a chat board and made a similar remark.

Does the same argument apply the other way zounds? Are those who choose to comment positively on Darragh being too "personal" too?

    No, of course not.

Please don't read things into posts that simply aren't there.

I dont think EDNABUCKETS meant to come across as being as offensive as it appeared. She raised a couple of semi valid points but did go on a little too much.

I guess this is an open forum and people are entitled to their opinions as long as they dont get personal.

Sorry, I was of course so wrong - Darragh does this out of charity and to bring peace and light to the world of course...

...of course not - he gets paid for it! And:

I didn't say he did it for free.. i said that in my experience he has gone out of his way to sort out problems for people, myself included in that when he really didn't have to.. he gets paid to do a job yes, but he doesn't HAVE to go the extra mile out of his way to sort things out for people in the way that he does.

    1) If there weren't all these "problems" he wouldn't be here half the time having to sort it out and spread his considerable charm around here.

    2) He's quite sharp enough to know it's worth his (paid) time to be here because every warm word he speads here (even it follows a complete Pigsback screw up) is worth it's weight in PR gold and promtion for his company.

If you can't see that then I really can't help you.

I wasn't asking for any help, nor do i need it thank you very much.

    1. Every company has it's problems, nothing and nobody is perfect, and that includes you.

    2. If it wasn't worth his time to be here then of course he wouldn't be, just the same as you or I.. we all come here because it's worth our time and effort to do so. If this wasn't the case then this site would not exist.. or at least not be so popular. Tell me, how often do you do things that aren't worth your while?

Darragh must also be delighted that with the amount of attention MSE gets these days, his competitors haven't wised up to this as well and the likes of Quidco assigned their own "Darragh" to the Board :)

I'm sure he wouldn't really care.. i'm quite sure that people will use pigsback regardless of if a 'competitor' has somebody posting on here or not

Sorry - what the heck has that got to do with anything? Equally

Well if you feel so strongly against pigsback then i'm saying you're not forced to use it, so it has got everything to do with it.

I picked up on an inaccurate comment and bit of sermonising from a company employee of a business that gets criticised time and again on this site. Am I not allowed to do that?

Apologies - I didn't realise you had an equity holding in the site ownership! :)

How was it inaccurate? He was stating what pigsback do not allow, which i am sure he knows is correct.. seeing as he works for them and is privvy to that information. As i said before, millions of other businesses get criticised time and time again.. it doesn't make them worse than any other business really. :)

Oh and i don't have anything to do with the site ownership.. are you saying that because i have an opinion that differs to yours that i MUST have some financial stake in the company? What an utterly ridiculous assumption/statement to make. :rotfl:

He just jumped onto it and launched a sermon in response to a fairly innocuous post from the OP - which I saw as being quite inappropriate.

Well in my opinion he gave a clear and concise reply about how they deal with what the OP was talking about, in fact i'd say there's only you who took any offence to what he said.

In reference to to your other comment endorsing MyUsernamesTaken OTT and offensive response to me suggesting I was "speaking for other MSE'ers" please refer back to my original post and the use of "I" throughout.

This is a Bulletin Board - we all stake our own opinions do we not? I don't think anyone claims to speak for anyone else, unless you are a company representative and openly state that is the company position.

I'm sorry that I didn't pick that point up before and set it straight - there was just so much complete grabage in MUNT's post I thought it would have taken too long to deal with it all.

What i had the problem with, is you telling somebody not to 'dare come back on MSE again preaching at anyone here' - i mean who are you to say that to somebody? Especially seeing as you had only just finished preaching at Darragh/PB in that very same post, a bit hypocritical i feel.

Just in case you didn't realise which paragraph if yours i am talking about, i have pasted it here for you to read again (without having to go back pages).

"However, in view of all the above, until your own company indeed reaches perfection, don't you dare come back on MSE again preaching at anyone here

I for one will certainly be far less polite than in this post if you try that on again.

I think you should delete your previous post and apologise."
