To be fair, i think most people are sticking up for (for want of a better phrase) PB/Darragh because they see that Darragh does do a lot to help people.
In fact in my experience, he's gone out of his way to make sure things are dealt with, and as for pigsback.. most can realise that it is mainly getting something for no financial outlay - obviously you can buy things thorugh pigsback to receive extra points, but if it's things you would buy anyway then it's a bonus on top of that to receive points/vouchers. They don't have to give you the offers.. but they do, and in the same way, you don't have to make purchases to build up points if you didn't really want to either.
It's not like people are forced to use PB, so if you are so dissatisfied with them, then why not just stop using them altogether.. no? Thought not.
Well said Claire! x
Darragh does a good job and he has a duty to help protect the company he works for avoid fraud taking place.0 -

I guess this is an open forum and people are entitled to their opinions as long as they dont get personal.
Thank you itsbeef - at last some sensible and rational comment.
If I went on "too much" it is simply because others chose to pile in and make their comments.
If people do that I will defend my position, which is my right in an open and free discussion, and if some posters want to unfairly try and gag that, then of course I will respond even more!0 -

For the absolute last time, my original post was nothing about condoning fraud, whether by an individual or by a company!0 -
Wonder if we'd all be jumping up and down to defend a bank or debt collector. He is after all here to make money out of us and the best way to make money is to turn on the charm. I have nothing against them, just be careful companies are not loyal to you.Barclaycard 3800

Claire_DC wrote:What I had the problem with, is you telling somebody not to 'dare come back on MSE again preaching at anyone here' - i mean who are you to say that to somebody?
You really can't grasp the point. This chap Darragh is the ONLY person here who is paid to be here.
He is the ONLY person here representing a company not himself. Try seeing him in that context and not just as another poster.
Bearing in mind his company is on the receiving end of so many regular complaints in so many of these pages and pages of threads, yes, I really do object to such a company (NOT an individual) coming on here and lecturing us all.
I would take exactly the same approach if we had a Quidco thread with a resident Quidco PR rep, a Barclaycard thread with a Barclaycard rep, HSBC, and so on...0 -

Thank goodness for your sensible and objective posts here Broken hearted!0 -

The way I see it is that Darragh represents PB as part of his job.
Sadly I am partially to blame for introducing Darragh to MSE as shortly after I joined PB I also noticed that PB was being dissed a lot here on MSE.
i contacted Darragh and we spoke about what was going on and he offered to come on here and try to help settle matters that were being discussed.
If my memory serves me correct he probably solves around 95% of questions thrown at him pretty quickly, which, considering the volume of mail he recieves here at MSE, is a pretty good effort considering that this is only one of his responsibilities.
I think the way Darragh conducts himself here really cant be criticised and I have never really seen him "pnic" or "stress" under the workload.
The important thing about this forum is that people should be able to "discuss" their thoughts as long as they are not directed at any one individual.
I think if we looked at the customer service secotr as a whole, we should be grateful that PB (via Darragh) is prepared to open himself up for so much extra work through MSE.
Lets face it, things could be a lot worse...........0 -

Since you usually post such sensible and helpful comments Fiona11, I won't be offended by your comments.
It's not "unpleasantness" - it's hopefully a rational discussion about a company and its paid PR agent. I refer you to Broken hearted's comments about companies, which say it all on the topic.0 -

I think we should all look at the fact that other sites such as QUIDCO also have issues that they need to address regarding their service delivery.
Alas they have never offered to venture onto MSE and assist in the same way as Darragh.
I think todays thread has proved one thing and that is that despite the fact that we gain things for free, sometimes even that isnt good enough........
Lets put this to rest and enjoy the weekend!!!
