Does anyone know anything about Saladmaster? We've been told we've 'won' a dinner for two, cooked by a chef, in our home. But there's got to be a catch - no such thing as free lunch etc.! Have been told there's a discussion on MSE but can't find it through Search. Any advice welcome.

Simple search on Google brings up a pots and pans demo. Now it depends on your Gullibility Level.0

You've won a free 'hard-sell' sales pitch from a salesperson. There was a long thread on here about them - as usual, a newbie registered and started posting very complimentary posts praising this company, it's products and selling methods. At one stage, this person claimed to have taken his saladmaster pots and pans on holiday with them, because he thought they were so good. They also make absurd claims in relation to their products preventing you developing diseases such a bowel cancer. I'll see if I can find the original thread....."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
Thanks - new it sounded too good to be true0

Thanks for looking maninthestreet. I think I've got the message that it's not a good idea. Trouble is that under a wee bit of pressure we've already said yes to the dinner - think I'll have to gird my loins and ring to cancel.0

Just go out for the evening when they are due to call.
I wouldn't lose any sleep about it, if anything, be glad you have prevented another sucker being ripped off.0 -
I think they were asking well over £600 for a set of pans. As usual this scheme originates in the USA and is a sort of pyramid (or MLM) scheme where various people up the chain have to get their slice of the very large commission.
Kirby vacuum cleaners are the same. Obscenely overpriced, complete with absurd and unprovable health benefits. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
My wife agreed to a visit from a double glazing co. a few years back and then told me about it. I left her in the house and went to the pub. The bloke that came was not very happy as he needed a couple for his hard sell. He sat for 2 hours waiting on me coming back. I came home slightly drunk and accused him of trying to get off with my wife. I never saw anyone run to his car so fast as he did. The company had the cheek to phone back to arrange another visit. I said if he came to the house again I would have the police there to arrest him for attempted rape. Never heard from them again.

It won't be long before a Saladmaster enthusiast/apologist comes on here to post wonder God healing properties of a simple saucepan. Saladmaster is like a cult, the devotees are so brainwashed that they trawl Google looking for new threads to convert the unconverted. The man without a signature.0
