I remember that huge thread too, Maninthestreet. As usual it backfired on the spammer as lots of MSE'ers weighed in with their experiences - ie. the meal a way of getting into your house for a very hard sell, the pans cost a fortune, theyr'e no better than other pans etc, etc.0

Why has that thread been (apparently) deleted? Did Saladmaster put pressure on MSE to pull it?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Interesting that the last thread has disappeared - if I remember rightly it was highly entertaining in it's critical analysis of Saladmaster. I suspect Saladmaster got it pulled as one of their staff was a "new poster" throughout the entire thread."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" We also 'won' a 3 course meal for 2 earlier this year. A man came to our home and cooked a starter of salmon on a bed of salad, main course chicken and veg, followed by chocolate cake. We wondered if there was a catch and sure enough at the end of the meal we were told about the range of pans, something like £1000 for a set of pans. We just said that we just couldn't justify spending that much and that was that. No hard sell and surprisingly no follow up telephone calls.
In fact we did very well out of the visit, he left the remaining vegetables and cake which lasted us for 2 more meals!0 -
I think if you are the original poster and then delete your post, the whole thread goes as well.
There was once a Peugeot salesman who posted a deal at his own garage on Grabbit. He unfortunately got himself into a real mess, ending up with people being able to identify his real name from his user name and the garages web site. I think he deleted the whole thread as his spamming and lying wasn't going to reflect very well on his company.
Some threads get pulled - there was a huge thread about Vance Miller and his Oldham kitchen company, in which I think even Vance and certainly his employees were chipping in about how wonderful he was.
I am really surprised a Saladmaster employee hasn't added to this thread yet. They do seem to trawl the web pretending to be happy customers, looking for forums to start/add to (imho).0 -
Oh yes,.....I remember the Saladmaster thread well.......SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM (with a Monty Pythonic theme):A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

The salad master thread, previously seen on MSE, was pulled I think because the company rep were making outrageous claims that the pans could cure diseases.
That was after the company rep (Sandeecee?) claimed that they had cancer and was quite cross because people were quite nice to her, but still said that the pans were rubbish, and she couldn't get the thread pulled for abuse.
There was also all sorts of claims about different types of steel and that the saladmaster used marine grade steel so that somehow made it different. Entries from wikipedia were brandished left, right and centre.
No independent research ever surface to say that the pans had any health benefits and if they were that good they would be sold in places like Waitrose or cook shops. If cook shops don't carry them, there is a good reason.
In fact the company rep got what I believe is called a spanking before the thread was pulled. I also believe you can get excellent pans from places such as John Lewis or even ebay without the hard sell and price tag.
Personally, I would fake food poisoning immediately after the meal.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0
