We also 'won' a 3 course meal for 2 earlier this year. A man came to our home and cooked a starter of salmon on a bed of salad, main course chicken and veg, followed by chocolate cake. We wondered if there was a catch and sure enough at the end of the meal we were told about the range of pans, something like £1000 for a set of pans. We just said that we just couldn't justify spending that much and that was that. No hard sell and surprisingly no follow up telephone calls.

In fact we did very well out of the visit, he left the remaining vegetables and cake which lasted us for 2 more meals!

This was the same for us...i remember filling something in at the good food show and they rang and told me we had won a 3 course meal just the same as JulieM. Ofcourse we knew nothing is free in this life so we looked them up on the internet, so we were prepared for the hard sell.

The gentleman that came was lovely and he cooked the same meal as above. Yes he did try and sell us the pans and we did listen to his scripted speech but i found the evening rather fun and no we didn't buy any pans as i told him we hadn't any money to buy them and we don't believe in debt (lol).

My DH had a ready made lunch of leftovers today and we have curry veg and chocolate cake left...so we did rather well out of the evening.

    Hi All,

I had the demonstration yesterday. The problem with their selling method is the actual selling method.

It is a pots and pans selling pitch, unfortunetely it is very American Infomercial presentation, with them talking at you and silly on the spot questions you don't want to answer.

I don't quite know why they sell like this as the product themselves are fantastic. I think they make their money despite their selling technique, not because of it. The cooking demonstration does impress you (it's classic example of using simple ingredients and cooking it properly and healthily).

I've left feedback for them to change their selling style, which hopefully they do, as I do think this is a very good product. In my line of work I get aload of sales pitches and do see through it quite easily.

The thing with this product is you get what you pay for. It's very good, but pricey, but I feel it's worth it, they should just change their sales pitch technique and just keep it to the demonstration with them just friendly talking around it.

No cooking pot is worth that money. You will probably find that the actual cost of this cookware is much lower. The rest of the price is made up of the commission paid to the salesman. I did find a job advert for Saladmaster which said that "up to £1,500" could be earned on just one sale.

American infomercials are extremely clever. They convince the watcher that the product is a completely new technological concept, and their life will not be complete without it. Americans are so mesmorised by them, so when they get told that a metal pan will change their life, they believe it and hand over their credit card in a flash#

They tell the consumer theyre not available in shops, when in reality, they have tried to sell into the shops, but have been told to p**s off.

We in the UK however, have brains.

In that case, would you like to buy my unwanted toaster? (or I call it the revolutionary bread-crisping system).

Manufactured using the new NASA-researched material, "Alumininius Metalus" (TM), the heating elements of this clever machine contains new patented Crispo (TM) technology, ensuring your toast is crisped to your exact perfection!

I'll even come round: We'll have a friendly chat, and i'll spend 8 hours making toast to show you that it works. I will then give you a further hard sell to show you how the "Crispo" (TM) technology has even been proven to cure baldness!!!! (research carried out in our own laboratories by our own staff).
All at the incredible price of £500 (per month for 12 months + p,p,p,p,p & p)

    So its a deal?:D

sounds like a pile of poo to me!

But I have bought something once from an american infomercial, shocking I know! The 'magic bullet', which sounds like something rude:rotfl:, but was actually a great little blender, and I was sad I had to leave it behind when I left to come back over here once my year studying abroad finished. That said, as well as infomercials, it was on sale in local appliance shops like Bed Bath and Beyond (which seemed to sell a lot of 'seen it on tv' type products come to think of it). So it's not always the case that something is on TV because they can't get it in stores.

Have to say though, if you wanted to spend a ridiculous amount on pots and pans, wouldn't you go for something well renowned like Le Creuset?!

Yes. Their prices are crazy. Here is a similar set for one tenth of the price. Better quality and a Lifetime Warranty. Check out Just Smart Living dot com.

I understand your motives but you are not allowed to advertise your own company on here. Anyway that's an American site which is no use to us Brits. So I have reported you as spam.
