Universal Resource Locator -- tosh for address!!

 Blimey! I wonder who makes up all these fancy names, and more to the point why don't they just call them what they are, something simple like Web Address would do :rotfl: .

Can some clever person tell me what to do with this please.

My mom has just been moved from hospital to a transitional care facility for a few weeks before being assessed to see if she will eventually be able to go and live back home on her own. I haven't seen her for a year because of my OH's illness and the fact that she's 3.5 hours' drive away from us. We usually chat for an hour at least once a week but because of her recent hospitalisation we haven't been able to talk so I send messages via my brother and also I've sent a card, etc.

I've just found this (scroll down to the MUM card - second one down) and I think she would love it. I've got no problem printing it off but how do I put it together? I know one strip goes on top of the other to spell out the MUM but how do I fix them? Do I score a bit in on the left hand side so that each part opens without straining where they've been fixed? What's best to fix the parts together?

I feel I should know the answer and am probably not thinking this through, and when someone tells me it's going to be so obvious that I'll wonder why I didn't think of it :o.

Hi ladies - just a quick visit to let you know that there's a closing down sale on here:
    http://www.makethemomentlast.co.uk/
don't just click on the sale banners though - there's other stuff in the sale if you click on the other headings - including bazzill cardstock for 23p a sheet, stuff seems to be selling out quickly!!!
Right I'm off to watch big brother!!!

Seriously - who thinks these things up??!?!?

TomsMom Could you punch it and tie it together with a pretty ribbon? Off to have a look at that site.

:j:jI've just persuaded OH to go shopping with me tomorrow for a shiny new printer :j:j
I ended up choosing this one I took your advice on getting one with separate ink cartridges and OH said that this is a good one because of the resoultions (he knows what he's talking about) so off to tesco tomorrow before going to our local IMAX to see Avatar. Don't know what I'm more excited about.
Any suggestions as to what I can talk him in to buying me next... ;)
  • Sorry I couldn't resist editing your post :rotfl:

That is awfully true you know me too well. I have found stamps everywhere when i've been sorting out . I have filled a nappy box just chucking in all the stamps that hadn't been put away properly. oooh err. I must have left them all in a safe place . definately wouldn't have stashed them till no one was looking would i. Then i forgot all about them. :rotfl::rotfl:

Uh oh there goes my no stash until next payday resolution.

Can't imagine I'll be on her much this weekend I've borrowed my friends Cricut expression for the weekend to do the lettering on my bunting. She has soo many cartridges - my fave of the ones she's let me borrow has lots of cakes on it but also lets you make cake cupcake holders and party favors so I'm hoping to have time to give that a go. The other one I like is called winter woodland and it has cutouts that can make 3d houses. I might have to save that for next time tho - I have soo much to do!
