Hello, well took the boys to the doctors and all they could say was it is viral (what a surprise there ) and may be slapped cheek but as DS1 had it when he was 2, not sure it is that . Think it is just some kind of virus that has made them run down and given them a horrible rash. GP said to give Calpol every 4 hours for the temperature and keep them in - as if I was going to take the swimming in a lake or something . So didn't learn anything that I wasn't doing already but still feel better that they have been seen by a medical professional (who I have to say didn't look any older than 17). I bought some Calamine Aqueous cream in the chemist to use on the rash it help calm it down.

You're right Glittermum I don't have a bug but would like one, if you notice any competitions or opportunities to win one please let me know ;) Thank you for your offer x

Gemm, I love your magnetic pens!!!

I have been oh so naughty and bought a few stamps :o... Tilda in Spring Rain (have wanted this for months), a karate boy from Sugar Nellie (DS1 does karate and I wanted it for his birthday card), a reduced Magnolia stamp from Dies to Die For (Tilda with Birdcage), a footballer bear and a really cute little boy in pyjamas that was in the sale for only £2 :D. If you are on the lookout for stamps or just fancy a browse, Dies to Die For have some fab ones in the sale.

My Kaisercraft advent countdown tree arrived last week from Sugar and Spice and it is fantastic, fab size and really thick chipboard. Need to decide on what papers to use, I may wait until the Autumn when the new Winter ranges start appearing ;)

Like the sound of NEGirl's lemon cake recipe :D Will be making that later in the week. Does anyone here use butter? There was an article on the news this morning about a group who are campaigning to ban the sale of it in the UK as it is so damaging to health. I always use butter as we like the taste and prefer using a more natural product than margarine. I don't use loads so don't see the problem and in all honesty think we have larger issues going on than banning butter. Rant over ;) x

Gemm85 Love your pen magnets and your crafting room makes me soooo jealous. Need to wait until we move house before I can get one. (OH has promised I can get one then... :j)
TomsMom I was wondering about colouring in stamps too. Can someone explain the difference between Promarkers and normal colouring pens please? Are they worth the money? Oh and I've had a wee look at your pics - wow what a difference you have made to your house. That's fantastic.

helping_hubby I have downloaded Gimp before but found it difficult to use. Do you use it and if so how do you find using it. I used to have Photoshop and loved it. May just have to invest again.

Rainmac - sorry to hear about your boys, hope they're feeling better today. NOOOOO don't let them ban butter. I couldn't live without it, I really don't like the taste of of margarine

Dawnteabag - should I send you some Lucky White Heather? Hope your mishaps end soon

I don't find gimp any harder to use than photoshop. But I don't do anything particularly difficult. Mainly use it for cropping, basic editing and resizing photos. Occasionally use it for drawing things for when I'm struggling to explain something to someone.

I find googling helps find a solution for how to do something in gimp (like when I wanted to fade out the edges). There's quite a lot of tutorials out there.

    Snipped your post .....

Sorry they fobbed you off with the usual ... its a virus, your legs could be hanging off but it would still be a virus I am afraid! :( hope the monkeys get better soon! xxxxx Enjoy your swimming trip with the monkeys in the lake :rotfl:  never know it might make them better! lol

As for butter ... I love butter, and rarely buy it cause if I do then I have to eat loads of toast with butter dripping all over it!! :rotfl: it was your comment about larger issues ... did you see on the BBC about peppa pig not wearing her seatbelt?? have a look here. My main view is to ask who the parent actually is? would it be the adult or the child itself? ... how ridiculous!

So butter and seatbelts in a children's programme, do you think the BBC was trying to lighten the mood of the news today???

Looking forward to seeing your OH's card Rusty, I need some inspiration cos the mojo I had last week has left me. I still haven't had the Craftwork Cards order I did on 7th January. Sent them an email this morning and then quickly had a despatch note email, I think they'd forgotten about my order

    Hello all :j

rainmac -=sorry your boys aren;t well..........seems like doctors always say virus when they don't really know or aren't sure. Best keep an eye on them (which you will anyway I know)

flourgirl - keep the pen ideas coming...........loving them:T

lou - you could always get a box from the shoe shop for free -this time of year they have the bigger ones that have had boots in.............depends on how big you want it really.

Fiddled about this morning covering an index - box...........and fiddly it was.......think I'll keep this one for myself for keeping birthday cards in -got another one I want to turn into a recipe card box for foster daughter but want to make a better job of it than the one I've just done !

    Take care all x
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !
