Dawnteabag - Oh Dear! surely things have got to get better for you soon! Wish there was something practical I could do to help. Keep your chin up & certainly get the kitchen firm back! My DH's phrase for these circumstances "fit for purpose" the plumbers fitting obviously wasn't! HTH
Lyndach - My DH's phrase for these circumstances "fit for purpose" the cupboard door fitting obviously wasn't! HTH Hope you feel calmer now x
Thrifty - That's why we are all here for each other as much as the card info/help. Hope the exam went well for DD & you didn't have too much whisky on your cornflakes!
Lou05 - Love your cards! I feel investment in a computer cutting machine coming on - despite all I said to flourgirl yesterday!
Sal - I'm lucky I've not had to drive since the snow arrived! Do wish it would go away tho'0 -
[QUOTE=rainmac;28783661Popkins, huge congratulations on being asked to make the wedding invites. It is a large number, do you have anyone who could share the work with you?[/QUOTE]
Thanks Rainmac - my friend has emailed me this morning and said she got it wrong - she prob wants about half the amount of invites she said as they're inviting 150 people!! not sending 150 invites!! Phew thats a bit more do-able!!! So I think I'm gonna give it a go!! EEEK!! Sorry to the ladies who pm'd me!!! As she's a friend I really do want to do them for her and also as she's given me more of an idea of what she wants its pretty simple so think I might be able to manage to do them EEEK!! I think...
Anyway so does anyone know the best place to get gatefold cards and organza ribbon for best price!!!? Want to do it as cheaply as I can for her but still make something for my time! Have found similar to what she wants online at £1.25 a card so pretty cheap!0 -
Popkins

Hiya Popkins
Just seen your thread, sorry.
If you're still needing a hand with the invitations, I'd be happy to help you out.
I've been asked recently to do some wedding stationery too - also 150! plus table plans, menus etc. Bride to be has now changed her colour scheme from pink to something else too, so I'm waiting to hear what her colour will be now. However, I've got loads of time before she needs them, so if you're wanting any help, please just shout.
Sal
xthanks Melissa!!really kind!
One other thing I mean't to mention... a friend of mine is getting married later on this year - she's actually getting married abroad but is having a 'Wedding Party' when they get back, anyway a while ago she mentioned maybe I could make her invitations for the wedding party and at the time I was very enthusiastic and said 'ooooh I'd love to'... however I've just had an email from her and she wants 150!!! I don't think there is anyway I could possibly do 150 so am gonna have to say so!! I had palpitations and the like when I had to do 30 xmas cards for my mum remember!! although the difference is these would all be exactly the same I guess!!
anyway I digress I can't do them anyway cos my Fibro is really bad at the moment so its just not an option but I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies on here who make wedding stationery would be interested in the business at all? I'd feel happier if I could respond to her giving her details of an alternative rather than 'no I can't do them'!!! Let me know if you're interested at all...0 -

Popkins - Phew! the numbers seem more achieveable for you now. Sorry I haven't offered to help, I'd be too scared I'd spoil them for you! Anything else I can do I will!
I had some ribbons from these people as part of a bargain offer & wouldn't have paid full price 'cos of the selection they sent, but 'proper' orders may be OK as the quality wasn't bad and leastways you could compare their prices. I think Flourgirl & Gemma ordered from them too they may have an opinion HTH0 -
Wow there's been some brilliant links that have gone onto my favourites list.
Oooo lots of people doing wedding invitations!! I'm doing my honoury Uncle's sister's wedding stationary. Haven't got the date confirmed or the numbers, but I know she'll want them pink and sparkily which will be fun!!
Thanks Saucy, Rusty, Marg and Ali for the nice comments.
Lou, I think the cards are lovely, I love forever friend and the cricut has a brilliant effect.
Nightmare thrifty, I don't know how you kept your cool, i don't think I could have.
I'm also having problems with my washing machine, I'm still waiting for Hotpoint to deliver my new one. I ordered and paid for it nearly 2 weeks ago through Argos who said that hotpoint would call me and arrrange delivery within 2 weeks of payment, but I still haven't heard anything from them.
Hi to everyone else that I've forgotten to mention xxx:jTesco Clubcard - £50, Boots Advantage Card - £4 , Nectar points - 1846 :T

Question for Paddingtondoo - You have used the Mo Manning eskimo stamp, what colours did you colour it in? I am trying to use your image as inspiration as so far this morning I have coloured in 12 of these images and they all look pants!! ... my blue looks fab in cornflower and powder blue, I then used pink carnation on my girly and the only other pink I could find was magenta and now I have screwed it all up cause the blender pen turns magenta bright orange/yellow!! Can you help please? I am on the verge of ordering every pink/red promarker that I don't currently own just to do this image!! thats how mad it is driving me!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
