Well, loads of domestics to do here, not least braving the ice to get food in - the fridge is bare.......see you later!0 -
Hello and thanks to everyone for your support over this very tricky week.
I finally escued my car on Thursday evening. I tried reversing it up the hill, doing a point turn to drive up the hill, Mum and "&son" gritting and digging all the whils so in the end I had to be brave and drive (well slide actually( down the hill. In first all the way but wit the slope picked up loads of spped very quickly. It's so scary not being able to brake. The worst bit was at the bottom of the hill where the road narrows so there's just one line of cars parked on one side, just enough space for a car to get by and then an 8ft wall on the other. I just had to line myself up and hope it slid through nicely. Think the adrenalin was still pumping when I went to bed 5 hours later!
I left the car at home yesterday as I just couldn't be bothered with all the hassle. Glad I didi because we had more just as I was coming home and the bus was sliding all over the place.
Nervously waiting now to see if the John Lewis van will be able to come and deliver my washing machine - it broke on the 18th of December and things are getting desperate especially now I have a week of school uniform to wash before Monday. I'm also a bit worried because it says on the delivery form that I have to have disconnected the washer before they can take it away and replace it. I've disconnected the power and the waste pipe but I just can't get the other pipe off. I spent the whole of yesterday evening manhandling it out of the tiny gp in my fitted kitchen. I've managed to tear my lovely nre floor which was laid only 10 days before the damn thing broke. Harrumph. Maybe 2010 is just not for me!
My crafting plans for today are to make another challenge card - I did one for my sistyers birthday but then in the panic of this week nearly forgot to post it so didn;t get chance to take a photo. I also have a shadow frame to make for a Christmas present which I should have sent last weekend. We were planning to meet with my friend and swap presents but she lives in South Wales and was only at her parents in Cheshire for a while. Sadly, the cross=pennine roads were closed during that peiriod so the present exchange never happened and I just never got around to making it after that.
I also want to do my first week Scrapbook page for this year as I'm trying to do one a week but I haven't been able to get out to get photos developed. Don;t want tthat resolution to fall at the first hurdle like the healthy eating one!0 -
DawnT - Hope you get nice John Lewis men & they can finish the job for you - make them a brew & biscuits & smile. Glad your car retrieval was a success sounded hair raising:eek:0

Afternoon all :hello:
Well I had a crazy day yesterday and didn't make it online - came back here to 5 pages . So I have skimmed thro' quickly and hopefully haven't missed anything too important.
Glittermum - lovely freebie
Dawnteabag - glad you were safe with your car sliding adventure. My friend had a narrow escape involving her car sliding down a hill towards a cliff with the sea below. I think her adrenaline is still pumping
I saw some lovely cards on my skim through and have promised myself time to do a proper bloghop after we get back from Mr T's this afternoon.
Now why do I do these things to myself. I was out with some friends last night and have managed to get myself involved in a diet challenge with a bottle of champagne for the winner and a bikini wax as a forfeit if you put any weight on . It's too much wine that's what does it - think I'm going to have to be teatotal on any future nights out . A diet in this weather, what a numpty I am :rotfl:.
Take care all, will pop back later,

Now that's an incentive to stick to your diet! Good luck with it, I hope you win the champers.
I've made [STRIKE]a cr*ppy[/STRIKE] an interesting card and put it on my blog, Jamtart's challenge set me thinking so I set myself a challenge to recycle something.
Take care everyone if you're going out. My son and d-i-l are doing my bits of shopping, I'm not risking going out with it being icy underfoot. I've heard of three people this week breaking their wrist/arm and if I do something like that we'd be in a pickle with OH recovering from his stem cell transplant and not able to do much.0 -
AAArrgghhh!!! John Lewis just rang to say they can't get on my road because of the snow!
What am I going to do now
my sink is unusable bcause I've disconnected the waste pipe from the washer so there's a hole in the pipe where that should be attached. The washing machine is in the middle of the kitchen floor and you have to squeezte to ge tpast it. I can't face putting it all back in to take it out next time it will kill me!
Just rung JL and had a bit of a cry. Waiting for them to ring back now to tell me when they will deliver. then I have to go and sort out my car so I can drive it over to my Mum;s to use her washing machine - There;s no way I can manage it on the bus.0 -

I love your blogI'm thinking about making one. Have to wait for my stuff to arrive to have something to make first, though!
Signature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
Dawnteabag, I am so sorry about your washing machine not arriving. We had a bed delievered today for DS1 (I was worrying that it wouldn't turn up but it did). OH has been putting it together all day, it's a cabin bed with a desk that pulls out from underneath. DS2 now has a full-sized single bed in his room and a lovely new mattress. My boys are growing up too fast
Rusty, glad your OH got home safe x
Thank you for the slow cooker recipes, going to get it out of the box next week and have a play with it
I am sorry I haven't sorted a challenge out on Crafty Place this month, been preoccupied with DS2's birthday, the snow, primary school places for 2011 and life generally.
It's Thomas' party tomorrow at an indoor playcentre, he's been looking forward to it for weeks!
Take care in the nasty weather everyone xxx:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
