melissa - I'm thinking more along the 'card' line..........sort of A5 folded in half as you would for birthday card but not make it quite as decorative (I think ) Maybe just pretty paper and a piece of ribbon ? -mind you, done that on some of the birthday cards.
Thats about all I can come up with............don't want to make them look too much like a greetings card otherwise she'll get confused (she's 90 this year)
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Mary - the notelets I've seen that have been handmade have always been really simple - so the ribbon idea and pretty paper sounds fab - maybe you could tie the notelets and envelopes up with ribbon.

Mary, paper and ribbon sounds lovely, great pressie I think x

Flourgirl, so glad you had a great time in Venice. Sorry to hear about your dad's mis-diagnosis, big hugs to him xxx

Sal, you and your OH has been in the wars haven't you. Hope you are better and he is keeping his spirits up xxx

I've had a terrible cough for weeks and it got really bad this week, by Wednesday I started to get a lot of pain behind my ribs on the right hand side and have been putting up with it but caved in and went to see the out of hours GP today (OH nagged me too ). The nurse I saw first of all made it clear that she thought I was wasting time and resources but I have been in agony and stood my ground to see the doctor. I've apparently damaged several muscles behind my ribs from the coughing so need to be careful and keep taking the painkillers but it should all heal by itself.

    Take care everyone x

    Hi Rainmac

Sorry to hear you're poorly too, hope it's not too long until you feel better too.

Flourgirl, hope you had a lovely holiday in Venice, lucky you! (Apart from the floods of course!)

Mary-Op thanks for telling me about your sciatica experience, he's being taken the pills that the Dr prescribed him earlier today, however he's getting worse tonight now and can't even put his weight on it, says the pills aren't touching it, I just don't know what to do now

OUCH!! Sal, I had sciatica in my leg for the last year, there was nothing which touched it at all, painkillers barely took the edge off and I was set to live with it! I was on paracetamol, ibruprofen, amitryptaline and tramadol, I swapped and switched tablets til I had week/2 week trials on them to see if they helped but always ended up back on the above. I tried physio and everything. Nothing worked for me apart from when I had my injection in my spine. Keeping my fingers crossed for your OH as I would not wish sciatica on my worst enemy ever!! it is evil and made my life hell!! I just need to keep fingers crossed that mine doesn't come back in 4-5 months time when the jab wears off!!

Rainmac - hope you feel better soon xxx

Flourgirl - Glad you had a lovely time! xx

Melissa - Thanks :D you made me spend some money with one of your links, they had 4.5/6.5 DCWV papers reduced to £3.36 and £3.50 so I bought some of each ;) just to add to my stash! lol

sorry I am struggling to remember what everyone has posted! hugs to those who need them and hope those who are poorly get well soon ...

    Anyone seen Bunbun?

We had a manic day yesterday at the club where I work. It was spent with my OH's family + friends and also a whole lot of regulars who I serve (when I get back in a couple of weeks) Had a fantastic day and have had a relaxing day today preparing for DS to come home tomorrow and DD to go to nursery on Monday!!

Question .... Am I being unreasonable? ... Called my ex this afternoon to ask when he is set to have contact through easter as we have found cheap flights out to Bulgaria and I really miss my Dad so were thinking of a week out there visiting with the children (they haven't seen DD in the flesh since she was 8 or 9 months old!!) anyway he told me all his paperwork was put away ready for the move (first I had heard) so I said ooh are you moving anywhere nice ... he told me he was moving in with his girlfriend, now this doesn't bother me one bit, but what does bother me is that when Tom goes to stay there the sleeping arrangements are strange i.e someone has to sleep on the sofa or share beds or something which clearly shows it is a small house, and also I have never met his girlfriend yet I am expected to not show concerns when my son will be staying there and also I get the impression that she already tells him off which I am mad about as she has no right to do that.

    So am I being unreasonable?

I'm not a total regular on this thread but in answer to your question Rusty. I don't think your being unreasonable at all. My daughter is now 19 but when she was small I hit these problems all the time. Her father never thought about my feelings at all regarding his girlfriends and he had a few. You should really talk it over with your ex other wise everytime your kids visit him you will have a niggle in the back of your mind. He really should have told you about the move but like I said some people dont think their actions involve others. This is a big issue for the kids as well.
Not very good at talking on forums can never get my point across well but hope this helps a little. x
