    Good afternoon Ladies

My plans have been disrupted today - we've got SNOW!! Not a lot, but enough to make the roads a nightmare - full of numpties who should have stayed at home. Also had thunder & lightening!

Louby - Many congratulations on your lovely little boy. Hope you are both OK.

Gemma - I second what flourgirl said about Christmas trees in the sale don't wait 'til after as they will probably have vanished! I got one about 6 years ago from Boots at this time of year. Bargain!

Flourgirl - Glad it arrived OK - you had to have one of those as you gave me the pattern - I did the holly wreath as well but made a complete mess of cutting round it so it's on DH's desk. Next time I'll cut the shape with the cuttlebug before I stitch it. I live & learn.

Rusty - Hope you & DD are better very soon ((hugs)).

HUGE thank you for my Christmas cards :j :j :j. I am struggling for space this week so will post pics on my blog of the cards AFTER Christmas.

Did our shop in Morrisons rather than Tesco where I normally go. Was full of customers but got what we (or rather I) wanted ;) As we are having Christmas dinner at my mum and dad's I've bought all the trimmings and cooking one for dinner tonight, with chicken instead of turkey. My fave bit of the dinner is sausages wrapped in bacon with loads of gravy - yum yum yum :D:D:D I have some cracker left over from last year so need to go dig those out so we can go the whole hog and look silly in paper hats :p

So sorry to hear you are poorly too Rusty, a friend of mine swears by lemon and honey for everthing, may be worth a try xxx Thank you so much for your card and parcel, I am very intrigued by the parcel, I love how it's wrapped :A

I received a parcel today with a diary and lots of lovely papers and embellishments but no note or message to say who had sent it. Maybe it was an elf or was it someone here??? Whoever it was, thank you very much and I look forward to altering the diary ready for next year.
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain

    Afternoon all!
I don't envy you going to Winterton yesterday Nannyboo - OH was going to come back from Tesco that way yesterday but told him he could so long as he wanted a car full of kittens :rotfl: (My dentist is at Winterton).

Took me an hour to get to work this morning - 5 minutes of which was getting off the drive - should have thought and reversed in so my car could have coped with the hump - was fine until I had to come down the ramp from the car park its one of those round and round ones stuck on the side :o.

Thanks for my cards Marg Furry and Gemma - bears and penguins :j.

Am sooooo glad I didn't get to the work do on Friday - 8 staff were off sick today with food poisoning in our team and more from Youth Offending who were also there- the place has been reported to environmental health (that's what happens when you poison 2 sections of the council :rotfl:) - can't imagine what it would have been like driving home in the snow stopping to throw up :o.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
  • Just a quickie, My husband posted my secret santa while i was in hospital so i hope it got there. He has just told me that he has got me a cuttlebug for xmas :j but that he has only just ordered it and wanted me to know as it most likely won't get here in time. I don't mind as i have the best ever present here. http://littlebundlesbabycakes.blogspot.com/ There was talk of him staying in hospital over xmas, which would have been heartbreaking but we had words with him and he turned a corner very quickly and came home late last night after many tears and begging with the doctors. He has to go back after for more tests but at least he is home.

    :j:jCongratulations - he's gorgeous :j:j
  • Furry - thank you for the card, it arrived this morning - the sentiment is so appropriate at the moment:rotfl: Can you pm or email me your address please ?

Marg - I heard on the radio that the roads near you were bad, hope it thaws soon

We've still got an inch or two of lying snow which is now frozen. I had the 'great' idea of going to the local NT place yesterday to see the deer in the snow - great idea until I fell (twice) and have jolted my back and neck . DH was just glad it was my idea to go in the first place :rotfl:

We're off to my s-i-l on thurs (I'll wave Furry :D), and then come back here to do 'Christmas' dinner for my parents at new year. I still haven't wrapped the all the presents that need to go with us  but at least the decorations are up

Skiergirl - Thank you - still no thaw here & for the first time in over 30 years DH failed to get to work because of the weather!! We managed to get to our band concert tonight but it was snowing again when we came out. Do hope your back wasn't too badly hurt and that you have a safe trip 'down South' & lots of festive fun.
