The meeting last night was a bit of a waste of time, blooming politicians . It sounds like the county council are trying to keep everything hush hush so they can get an agreement without any hassle. The parish council we spoke to last night were rather limp to say the least . I am going to book a meeting with the head of Jack's school in January and ask him to help me fight to get Thomas into the same school. After the number of tantrums Thomas has had outside school when we've dropped off or picked up Jack, the head may not want to know
Thank you for the card bunbun, it arrived safely today and it's gorgeous xxx
I am most of the way through my ironing :j, got OH's shirts to go (lots of them too ), why do I always leave the worst stuff to the end??? My plan is to iron everything in sight so I don't have to do any for at least a weekMarg, I will swap with you any day, I would rather clean 10 toilets a week than do the ironing
Lei, just off to have a nosey at your card, I know it will be fantastic cos yours always are. So sorry yout boyfriend bumped into a lamp-post, hope he and the car are ok. I am a complete chicken in the cold weather. Me and the boys have stayed home for two whole days. I do have a few bits to get in the supermarket but can't face the roads. My nan has decided to stay where she is and come and stay at mum and dad's in the new year so I think we may go and visit her next week to give her our pressies and take her out for a belated xmas dinner.
2 sleeps, only 2 sleeps :j :j :j My monkeys are going to meet their sock monkeys in the morning, I am so excited, think they will love them
:xmastree:
I'm getting excited too!! I have wrapped up a pressie for my OH from the cats (how sad I know) and have wrapped some toys up for 'the kittens' from Santa
I'm sure they will be more interested in the wrapping paper though!
Hope you are able to get Thomas into the same school, how on earth do they expect you to get them to 2 different places at the same time! stupid council
My mother in law was meant to be coming for Xmas but she lives in Durham (3 hours drive) and unfortunately they have had a lot of snow and ice and with more forecast tonight she'd decided she'd rather not take the risk. understandable really after you keep hearing nightmare stories about people being stuck out overnight etc. Those poor people who had to sleep in the bed section of Debenhams or somewhere, how awful! (but better than being stuck in your car I suppose!) we're still waiting for our snowwe must be the only place in the country thats still now had any!
Oh by the way, I don't mind ironing! I'd rather iron than clean lol0 -
gemm fab cards on your blog. I think the first is my favourite. I am looking forward to making non Christmas cards. I still have to make cards for my OH and the boys. I spent all last night colouring in 3 penny black stamps (they werre the big ones!!). first the colours were wrong then the card was wrong and the promarkers 'bled'. I have to finish the cards tonight.
I can understand your MIL not wanting to travel. my parents were supposed to travel up to Durham today but decided it was safer not to. there are too many daft people travelling on icy roads and they would have had 6 hours travel on a good day.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200
£60 deposit paid :j £100 paid:j £40 paid:j0 -
Phewwww!!! Granddaughter came on Monday and she has only just gone home. Actually she wanted to stay longer, which was ok until I told her off for cutting her hair!! Whooops... she now has 1/2 a fringe lol They will all be back tomorrow for tea and again for Christmas day.
Rainmac I hope you manage to get both children at the same school. The school in the next village make allowances for children who already have siblings there, as they understand the practicality of it. Well done to you on the cleaning and ironing. We should have a ban the ironing again!! I hate ironing but don't mind cleaning and DH does the bathroomsMy lot laugh at me when I have a cloth in my hand as everything gets wiped! I think I must have a touch OCD lol
Gemm fab cards on your blogiI really need to get my head round card making in the new year. Sorry the weather is too bad for your family to visit, and to you too Bunbun but it is better to be at home safe than to try and make a long journey.Plenty of time for visits when the weather picks up.
Rusty I hope you and your DD are better xx0 -
Marg and Gemm I remember the days....... when we only had 1 coal fire and the house was freezing, we used to get straight out of bed in a morning and step out onto Lino (old style cushion floor without the cushion bit ) you certainly didn't hang about undressed. in winter the net curtains stuck to the ice on the insides of the windows!! We didn't have central heating until after I had been married for 2 years. I do really appreciate it now though.0

Evening all, or should I say morning?? (Xmas eve :j :j :j)
Sorry I haven't been around, DD is going downhill, I had to get her back to the GP's this morning and they have taken swabs of her eye!poor little mite, she has passed her flu onto OH and myself so we are all suffering at the minute apart from DS!! ....
I may not have a chance to get on tomorrow as I am rapidly running out of time, I hoped to have everything done and ready so I could relax today (xmas eve) but it hasn't happened with DD being poorly! Plus I have a gingerbread house to make and also some gingerbread biscuits to make with the children for christmas day! ...
Hope you all have a fantastic christmas! Relax and enjoy yourselves and will speak to you all after christmas!! xxxxxxxxxRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

I'm sat here running through all the things I need to do tonight to get ready for tomorrow! I'm hosting my first ever Christmas. OK - so there's only 6 of us, but I just want everything to go smoothly.
My lovely mum has come up today and is prepping the veggies for me, so that's one less thing to do. I managed to iron the bed sheets this morning! I don't normally iron thembut my parents are staying over tomorrow night (for the first time) and I want everything to be perfect!
