Hi folks!
I havent been around for a while (well I might have been but it doesnt feel like it!). Hope you are all OK.
I need to pick your crafty brains. I card make and scrapbook. I have an old "hammer and chisel" type eyelet setter. It is very noisy, I hate using it but I LOVE eyelets and want to use them more.
I have been given some pennies for passing my exam and am going to treat myself to an eyelet setter, but which one? I have put a poll on my blog and I would be eternally grateful if you could possibly vote for me. Or if you have any suggestions for me, I'd be pleased to hear them. http://libertycottage.blogspot.com/
The next Q is "cheapest place to buy" when I've decided.
I might have to sneak a bind-it-all in the basket. I think choccy has been sending her elves out again
Have a lovely day folks xxx
Hi Jammy, nice to see you again!! hope you are keeping well?
My OH bought me a cropadile big bite, I had only ever used the cropadile (thankyou bunbun) and I thought it was great but now I have the big bite I am absolutely over the moon with it!! I am so desperate to put eyelets in everything and sylphraven has some lovely photos on her facebook page where she has added eyelets to clothes!! (what a talented lady she is!)
If you are planning to use it on 12x12 pages then the big bite is your best bet but it you only want it for smaller pages (cant remember the page size but it isn't very big) then the normal cropadile will do for you.
Cheapest place for cropadile big bite is QVC and it comes with a load of eyelets and gromets
Don't know anything about the silent setter sorry! I have however voted
sorry must have missed your post previously!!
Craftygranny how fab is that! bet the teacher was over the moon! you are a very kind lady!
I have been noseying on the trimcraft wholesale place, looking at prices of things. For the DCWV 12x12 papers you are likely to pay around £19.99 for most of the packs but on this wholesale place I have an account with I can get them for £8.69 each, I do have a minimum of 3 packs per paper i.e 3 x rockstar, 3 x nanas nursery 3 x alphabet stack etc etc the postage is £10 but I was wondering if people would be interested in something like this?
Surely this would still make things cheaper that even ordering them offline?
I spoke to bunbun about it today and she thinks it is a good idea ... oooh the temptation of having an account with them lol just wish they did things like basic grey!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Rainmac - you posted at the same time as me mrs
... sorry I wasn't being ignorant!! ... I bought a dovecraft Xmas pack, some more christmas papers, some other bits and bobs which I can't remember, then I went back and bought these fantastic papers....
They are really cute and very very lovely!!can't wait to use them!
I won't tell you what Bunbun bought, I shall let her tell you herself when she has finished stopping the kittens from chewing/scratching/trying to electrocute themselves!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Hi Jammie
I happened upon this thread today, now I have to spend a week reading it all :rotfl: . You know where I am normally found but not much happenening here so nothing to add on that thread.
I've voted on your blog for the Silent Setter. Only because I have one but I haven't seen/used any of the others. I'm very happy with mine but don't know how it compares to the others in your poll.
I'm trying to get my mojo back after a barren 18 months card making-wise so today I've been craft shopping on the 'net. Spent all day looking for the best bargains and have bought a Cuttlebug and four folders plus a stamp set from the Daisy and Dandelion range.0 -
Well I am feeling REALLY upset - my mum phoned today to say that the 30 Xmas Cards I made for her had arrived & get this... her words were "ooh hello just wanted to let you know that the cards have arrived safely, got them yesterday - must admit I'm a bit disappointed cos you didn't use gems on them - they're very nice tho..."
I worked soooo hard on those cards and its never nice to be told you're a disappointment is it!! I don't think I'll be doing that again!!! Feel totally gutted!!0 -

I can't remember either now but I know she kept annoying me!! I am very tired though today. She refuses to go to bed saying it is too early!! this is 11pmon a night!!! It was gone midnight when she suddenly remembered she needed to be asleep and is never up this late and I should have told her the time and told her to go to bed!
I know she sat in the cafe at boundary mill complaining about a crying baby, apparently the baby is hungry cause it is sucking its thumb, and also the mother who was feeding it was only feeding it on air not the milk in his bottle!! this was all said loud enough for the woman to hear!! (she can be quite nasty when in one of her moods!)
Oh and something else silly ... you know the rice paper which you can eat? the ones you stick on top of cakes?? well she had a snowman one on the cake she asked for, but when she came to eat it she sat trying to pick it off, she told me she couldn't take it off then when I told her she was supposed to eat it she thought I was having her on, she even thought bunbun was having her on aswell !! I ended up having to ask the lady who worked there that was cleaning tables to tell her I wasn't lying and that she could indeed eat it! :rotfl:
Last night I gave her tablets at tea time, I then refilled her tablet holder with tablets for the next week, she went in the kitchen took her tablets in the living room and put them on the table at the side of the chair! I only knew about this when DD told me that I had left my tablets on the table and that they were dirty (I tell her they are dirty and nasty so she leaves them alone!) anyway I moved them back in the kitchen to find that 5 minutes later she has her morning tablets and teatime tablets out on the top ready to take them!!! I nearly had a heart attack!!
Enough of todays ramblings of live with grannybasher!! I save it up specially for you! :rotfl:Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

Sending you massive hugs popkins, what an awful thing to say! you should tell her how you feel and say exactly what you have just put on here!! Did you charge her for them?? If not then say to her that if she wants gems then she will have to pay for them!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
