  • Just wanted to pop on and say a huge well done to Craftygranny and I'll be thinking of Mary and Mr Mary tomorrow.

You guys rock :j, although I haven't been posting since my original post last weekend, I have been lurking +++ and your posts have really brightened my days. I can now see a light at the end of my dark tunnel and it's shining on lots of handmade cards and other crafty bits :rotfl:

Thankyou all for the pms and messages of support - I promise I will be responding soon.

    Lots of love, Thrifty xxx
  • Flourgirl Thank you for the info i'll keep an eye out for them i might see if i can get my daughter to go to the next show with me .

Ali Can i live next door on the other side cos i think the same they are always having something delicious. If i win the lottery i'll have a whole estate built with a craft room in every house and we can all live nearby then. Better build a pub with a games room for all the men and the kids too.lol

2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

    Thank you CT19720

I'm waiting until Saturday before I make the Piece de Resistance - well that's the plan anyway - LOL - a huge wedding towel cake - as OH has been mumping about the amount of stuff that's lying around the house because I don't have room for it all at the moment, despite me saying it's all for a good cause.

Goodness what'll happen if I have to bring everything home again! lol

Love your cards on your blog too!

  • Flourgirl and nannyboo it says on that link that they had a stall at botany bay i pass there regularly on the way to see my mil so may have to leave the motorway and see if they are still there. We used to live at chorley and botany bay was just opening up and had lots of little antique shop type units and some units selling handcrafted items . Was very popular even then ( about 15 years ago )

I have been asked to make a pamper cake for a 90 odd year old lady who lives in a nursing home . Her daughter said she can't use bubble bath or shower gels but moisturising lotions are fine and some chocs but anyone got any ideas of anything else i can include . The lady is paralysed too. Not much to go on but all i have any ideas would be most welcome .

Big thank you to jennie for the lovely goodies that arrived today . Special thank you and big hugs and kisses from kaitlyn too.

Once again have forgotten what I've read so apologies if I miss responding - should have made notes as I went along!

Myz - good to hear from you.

Rainmac - Hope your evening went well & throat was up to all the chatting. Please don't stop posting!

Mary-op - Socks & pants inside out & fingers crossed for you tomorrow - could you get a 'posh' magazine to read while you are hanging about? - I wouldn't be able to concentrate on a book.

Flourgirl - we're officially addicted to Alice's fruit cake - it doesn't get chance to get frozen! Have made one to decorate for MIL's birthday. DH told me off for using the Remy Martin in it now I've got to use up the Fundador instead! Think I should really be coming to WW with you instead of baking. DH eats loads but is slim (it's not fair):(

Craftygranny - Brilliant result on your fundraising & Congratulations on more twins! I'm a coward & always said I'd like twins so I'd only have to go thro' childbirth once!:rotfl:You can send yours here if Alyssa changes her mind! Be careful of Botany Bay I believe they charge quite a hefty entrance fee although I have never been there myself. If I get chance will find out for you.

Bring on your lottery win!! We could all have craft buddies then within walking distance.

Sal - Your makes look fabulous - good luck with your fair.

Louby - I am firmly convinced they are a matter of luck. I went to one locally the other week (as a customer) and even though it was for the Hospice there didn't seem to be much buying going on - I got a neat little toy box for my great nephew but only because it was in a shade of blue that matched their decor otherwise I wouldn't have bought one.

Rusty - 12 parcels:eek: I'm still spitting nails about the one of mine they lost!

That reminds me Hels are you panicking yet? Not long now is it?

CT19720 - Great cards! What did you decide about nesties?

Padster - Love your hoovering exploits! Hope all goes well with final window. Re your gourmet meal - perhaps not in the same league but have you been to Loftsome Bridge @ Wressle? We've stayed there a few times over the years & enjoyed.

PS Craftygranny - re 90 yr old pamper cake old ladies tend to like talc? What about a nice nail varnish? Some pretty notelets not exactly pamper but people might write them for her if she needs. (you could easily make them yourself too!) Pretty Hankies? Voucher for a Hairdo (does N Home have visiting hairdresser) these just things my 89 yr old MIL likes.

What a mega post - best go........... Night all
