    Hi folks!
I havent been around for a while (well I might have been but it doesnt feel like it!). Hope you are all OK.

I need to pick your crafty brains. I card make and scrapbook. I have an old "hammer and chisel" type eyelet setter. It is very noisy, I hate using it but I LOVE eyelets and want to use them more.

I have been given some pennies for passing my exam and am going to treat myself to an eyelet setter, but which one? I have put a poll on my blog and I would be eternally grateful if you could possibly vote for me. Or if you have any suggestions for me, I'd be pleased to hear them. http://libertycottage.blogspot.com/

The next Q is "cheapest place to buy" when I've decided.

I might have to sneak a bind-it-all in the basket. I think choccy has been sending her elves out again :D

Have a lovely day folks xxx

Flourgirl Thank you for the info i'll keep an eye out for them i might see if i can get my daughter to go to the next show with me .

Ali Can i live next door on the other side cos i think the same they are always having something delicious. If i win the lottery i'll have a whole estate built with a craft room in every house and we can all live nearby then. Better build a pub with a games room for all the men and the kids too.lol

I am here, been out this morning x

I have a huge sweet tooth (matches my huge tummy ;)) so I love making and eating sweet stuff and the boys in the house don't complain!!! Wouldn't it be great if we all lived near each other with our own craft rooms and one big craft room (like a community centre but for crafting) where we could all meet up.

Had a lovely evening last night, Chinese takeaway was lush and we all ate too much - everyone still managed to stuff the cheesecake in and roll home ;)

My replacement BG papers arrived today :j, I love the Glitter Pot fast delivery :D Hoping to make a card or two tonight.

I know you won't be reading this Mary before going to the hospital but best wishes to the both of you xxx

Jammy, sorry don't know anything about eyelets

Good to see you on here Jammy! I have the smaller version of the crop-a-dile and the cheapest place I found to buy it was QVC, £16 (plus postage) and it comes with a case plus loads of eyelets too, I love it :)

Flourgirl - thanks for Botany bay info - am much more inclined to go now free entry! Yes, I like sticky ginger cake - (there aren't many cakes I don't like though don't usually do cream ones) Have you got a yummy calorie laden recipe for me?

Craftygranny - Your kind hearted postie just made me cry - how lovely is that? Twins - bring 'em on! (sounds like they'd be clean & wholesome with all that Lynx stuff):rotfl:

Jammy - sorry I don't know about eyelets either.

Rainmac - Glad you had a good time last night. Been thinking lately about your Mum is she OK now?
You do know you'll find your other papers now don't you? In one of the boys colouring books maybe?

I did indeedy, I am so sorry that you didn't get the last one that was posted to you and I am sorry that it has taken so long to get this one sent out to you!! hope it is all ok for you.

Choccy, Craftygranny - Glad they both arrived safely!! :D Craftygranny can you please check that I did the stash swap right as I put in your stash swap aswell and woke up at silly AM this morning in a panic that I hadn't put enough in there for you and that I had missed something? please let me know if I have missed something.

Choccy - I have another envelope here for you which will hopefully be posted today!

Rainmac - Hope you had a good night last night.

I have had a lovely morning today with the lovely Bunbun, we went to boundary mill and had a good old nosey around the craft stuff, both of us spent lots of money although me more than her!! she led me astray!!
Both grannybasher and DD misbehaved :( so I think I need to ground them both!! :rotfl:

Hoping to get some crafting done tonight :) :j

  • Jammy - have voted - big bite is almost the bestest thing in my house (apart from cuttlebug) DD and OH are both out or I would have had to say them of course :A

Windows all done - front one looks so clean I had to check there was actually glass in it :D. Just have to pay for them now and find my shorts as it's so warm in here :rotfl:. Roof is next but OH can deal with that :p.
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p
  • Well i just had a good laugh the boys are doing a business course at college and they have to make something to sell to the other students to raise money. My bright boys talked the class into making christmas cards . The tutor said he knows nothing about card making but if someone could show them or give them a list of what they needed he would sort it budget was 30 to 50 pounds .

The boys told him no time like the present and brought him with them at lunchtime. He went to the craftroom and thought it was a shop ooops lol. They left after lunch with a big box containing card blanks and envelopes , christmas papers ,foam pads, rubber stamps and ink pads a box of whispers pens i wouldn't loan them the promarkers. loads of ribbons ,gems and flowers and piles of embellishments. They also borrowed my atg gun and a guillotine .
Tutor was going to go to hobbycraft and buy the stuff hopefully for around £30 till i pointed out that wasn't very good business when it's far cheaper online . So they took full packs of stuff and what they took only cost around £15 apart from the loan stamps and he got far more than expected .
He left muttering that if you are going to run a business make it a craft one cos crafters buy loads. pmsl.

My mum is doing well thanks Marg, it was a year last week from her 1st op and she will have her first tests since all the treatment early next year. I think it's a long time to wait to get the all clear but I haven't said that to her. She kept herself busy planning a new kitchen earlier in the year and that is now all in and fitted and now looking towards a family Christmas as my brother and his partner are going to stay with my mum and dad and me and my mob are going to Christmas lunch oh and my nan (mum's mum) is going to stay over Christmas too. We're all going to share the work so nobody feels put upon.

Dragonllew, you've just reminded me that I was planning on having little gifts and treats wrapped in a box for advent rather than usual advent calendars and I haven't started wrapping anything yet  Best go dig all the bits and bobs out and start wrapping ;)

Fab news about your windows being finished Padster :D

So what did you ladies buy then bunbun and Rusty??? Spill NOW...
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain
