Thanks for the welcome Rusty. I have a confession. My Tom isn't my son (I have a big son as in 36, who's called Neil). Tom was my beautiful, beloved, big, rescued ginger cat who unfortunately only made 5 due to a tumour which paralysed him. I didn't think NeilsMom sounded as good as TomsMom when choosing my user name
. Shhhh, no-one else on MSE knows that
.
I had an email this afternoon to say that the stamp set I ordered earlier today has already been despatched :T. Can't wait for my Cuttlebug and folders now - coming from two different stores. I really want to get back into card making, I have a desk etc in the loft but am minus a chair at the moment. I've a lot of catching up to do on techniques etc., I got a bit stuck in a rut with decoupage before so hoping the stamping bug bites me again. I think I've got to the stage where I need a recipe book for card making, my creativity doesn't really exist at the moment :rotfl: .
Jammie - I do all my craft buying online (no shops anywhere near as you can imagine) and once I know what I want I google and check all the suppliers to find the best price, taking into account P+P where applicable. What is it you have in mind?0 -

Are we related Padingtondoo
I have a brother who lives 40 mins drive away and visits three times a year and is the greatest thing since sliced bread. She comes here every weekend for the day and if I say I can't do it one weekend or have to swap her day then I am the world's worst daughter with a large sigh just to let me know how much. Kate :hello:0 -

I live 160 miles away from mine now but used to live just round the corner and she used to do useful things like empty my letter box, hang my washing out and pop round for a coffee while I was at work and she used to have her hair done at mine every Friday (yup doormat) Since I moved and grew a life and a backbone she's never forgiven me - says things like I'm so glad you're happy :rotfl::rotfl:
Doodleydobug papers at the glitterpot jamster - lots of 12 sheet packs for £4 sommat - am not posting any more links or I will have no friends.
Am off to change into my shorts and vest top to do some crafting.
PS have managed after a week and several narky comments to book 26th March off just need OH to babysit and agree to doing school run now and I'm off to the NEC (probably on my own)

Is it not as busy on a Friday as at the weekend as no guarantee but I might try to take the day off work if hubby can and then we might go (I don't do crowds so Saturday is out so if we go you could have a lift with us but won't know till nearer the time) Kate :hello:0 -
Ok i'll ask how long is it since you last went to this craft shop lol. Have you not got any cards that will be to this woman's taste she may well pay you what you ask then add on more. I have a friend who makes vintage style cards and sells them for 2.50 to 3.00 and shop she sells them to charge 5.00 and sell plenty.
Don't know what the qvc offer on the big bite is but craft superstore have them on offer at the moment in a carry case with some gromlets etc i had an email earlier .Thanks so much for all of your help with the eyelet setter - and people who have not used eyelets...why not!? YOU ARE MISSING OUT I TELL YOU!!Thanks for the tip about QVC very helpful!
TomsMom - great to see you here. You won't meet a better bunch of crafters anywhere. And need bargains? these are your gals
So off I tootled to the craft shop by me today. IT'S SHUT DOWN!? They did a bunk, a moonlight flit if you will and in its place is an interior decor shop (which is actually gorgeous, I asked the woman if I could come and live in her shop!). They do table centrepiece classes and flower arranging.....sounds like fun! Also got chatting about my cards and she wants to see them to see if she might sell them, but I think she might want too big a cut of the profit, and they didn't really "fit" with the rest of her shop, but will give it a whirl, she can only say no.
So..long long story short - I have NOWHERE closeby to buy craft supplies from now. Not even glue *sob* so I will have to take my custom online. Now I know not so long ago a few of you mentioned 12 x 12 card cheap somehwere online and I have forgotten where. Also I need christmas papers (more!) and I'm sure a few other bits could sneak in. Where is the best place to buy? Anyone seen anything nice for xmas? (im not a stamper!)
Thanks so much for your helpsCross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Now don't you go outing me on the renovation thread!
TD very up and down with blood levels, mineral levels, etc. Having blood transfusions again today. I think he's getting fed up of feeling like this, and the food doesn't help either (what he can keep down). Hopefully he'll feel a bit better tomorrow. No sign of him coming home yet but he's in no hurry, he's told them he's happy to stay as long as he needs to now he's nearer home. Crossing fingers he'll be home for Christmas.0 -

I didn't know that either! Never thought to ask before!
Anyway, what you doing on here? You following me?! I've been spending all my money on craft stuff since the house is almost finished
And you're getting a Cuttlebug? That's not fair! I've been umming and erring as to whether to ask for one for my Birthday. Let me know if it's worth it
Keeping my fingers crossed for TomsDad to be home for Xmas too for you.
Question for people who buy papers online, especially 12x12's - do they package them in stiff envelopes?
Ooh, TomsMom, my card blog is here: http://cardsbyjones.blogspot.com/ I hope you've set one up....0
