OOOhh news about the pumpkin . My hubby answered the door tonight to one outraged lady and four shame faced teenagers. The police had paid her and the other parents a call and she was disgusted by the behaviour of her son and his friends so she brought them round and made them apologise to kaitlyn . her son had bought her a huge tin of chocolates too. We truly were surprised and she left her number and said if we see them up to anything else just let her know. Kaitlyn was thrilled .

Thats brilliant, maybe they will think twice before doing anything like it again.
  • craftygranny - that's a great result. I know all too many parents who would back their unruly kids to the hilt, its not often we hear of the good ones!
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

  • Jailhousebabe That's exactly what i thought too. We were amazed. Think poor kaitlyn made them feel worse whilst his mum was speaking to my hubby she opened the chocs and insisted they have some. lol. Grandad said she's as soft as me . not sure if that was a compliment or not.

So glad the pumpkin saga has a great ending, good on their mum for bringing them around and making them apologies to Kaitlyn and you. I'm sure they won't do anything else again particularly as you have the mum's number.
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

Louby-Lou-Lou - I'd be up for the challenge too - it sounds like a great idea!

Babybluegirl - sorry I can't advise you at all - I've only got the squeeze and I've never used it!

Princesspoppypop - I was really good through my pregnancy - I didn't really eat much just drank loads of water. The last few weeks though I have really pigged out - I couldn't stop myself from eating chocolate - so now I look bigger than when I'd just given birth!

Rainmac - I forgot to say before that your bookmarks and tea bag holders are gorgeous - hope they sell well!!!!

Craftygranny - its great the boys were made to apologise - maybe they'll think twice before being mean again!!!

    Flourgirl - welcome back!!!!
  • Craftygranny - OH and I have been sitting here sniggering those kids will want to curl up and hibernate especially if you happen to see them out and Kaitlyn says look they're the boys who brought us the chocolates in that particular voice that only small children seem to have that carries for miles - you know the one that DD used in the cream cake section of Tesco on me once - make your own sentence out of fat lady why mummy sooooooooooo :rotfl:.

I was very brave on Halloween this year - sent DD to the youth club disco and then went to the pub till I had to pick her up - only had to answer the door once just spent the evening on a bar stool waving at them all as they went past :D

Forgot to say welcome back flourgirl and I'll be up for Friday's challenge although it'll be in the evening as I have to go to scabby work which is why I won't be at the NEC. Perhaps I can play with my new promarkers :D
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

Okay - on to the cheapest punch hunt!!!! It has driven me mad today - my brain is full of "super dupers" and scallops. The cheapest punches I've found (I've only been looking for circles and scallop circles) are (drumroll):
    The Secret Crafter:
    http://www.secretcrafter.co.uk/punches/woodware/cat_44.html
They don't have as much a selection as some of the other shops, but for the ones they do stock they were the cheapest I've found. These are the ones they have:

    Super duper (3 inch) circle - 8.30
super duper (3 inch) scallop circle - 8.30
    super (2 inch) circle - 6.55
    super (2 inch) scallop circle - 6.55
    large (1 inch) circle - 3.26
    big (1.5 inch) circle - 4.90
plus they offer free postage over 5 quid!

For the ones that secret crafter doesn't stock there's either the glitter pot:
    http://www.theglitterpot.co.uk/scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=71
    or happy daze:
    http://www.happy-daze.net/catalog/punches-woodware-punches-c-25_169.html
happy daze offer free postage over 10 quid spent, the glitter pot offer free postage if you spend over 40 - so the cheapest out of these depends on what else you're buying.

huge (3.5 inch) circle punch - 11.15 @ happy daze, 10.99 @ the glitter pot
huge (3.5 inch) scallop punch - 11.15 @ happy daze, 10.99 @ the glitter pot
very big (2.5 inch circle punch - 8.45 @ happy daze (out of stock), 7.99 @ the glitter pot
very big (2.5 in) scallop punch - 8.30 @ happy daze, 7.99 @ the glitter pot (out of stock)
large (1 inch) - scallop circle - 3.45 @ happy daze (out of stock), 3.32 @ the glitter pot

Paddington i know that voice well when my eldest was about 4 (28 now) we were on the bus behind a lady with a huge multicoloured mohichan haircut he stared transfixed for the whole journey then she got off at the same stop as us. Walking up the street he suddenly piped up mummy why has that lady got a poll parrot on her head. Luckily she fell about laughing but i was horrified. :rotfl:
