    Hello

Thought I would introduce myself to everyone.

My name is Kate and I am a childminder. I am a craft addict who loves to buy craft items but never has the time to do any craft due to flaming paperwork.

So much so that earlier this year I decided I would get rid of all my craft stuff to a friend. As it was I took quite a few boxfuls to her and still ended up with a built in cupboard full of stuff (oops I didn't realise how much stuff I had).

Anyway since discovering the MSE forums I have a real urge to craft again that and the fact I hate spending money buying cards for birthdays etc. So this weekend when I should be doing paperwork I am rearranging our bedrooms to make space to drag all my craft stuff out so I can leave it set up for when I get a spare 5 mins or so. I am also going to try and set aside a couple of hours a week to try scrapbooking as I lost my dad last year and would love to do a book for mum for Christmas.

Anyway I recognise some names from other threads I have been reading and although trying to save money I think that may have to go out of the window where crafting is concerned lol.

I am very envious of all those going to NEC for the craft show but the last time I went I spent £200 in 20 mins so probably not a good idea for me to go.

Sadly I will not have chance to read all the posts in this thread or nothing will get done at all.

I hope to get to know you all over the next few weeks and look forward to trying to read your blogs

I know you were asking flourgirl - CT

But yes you can use them in the cuttlebug I don't use an embossing mat - you only need that if you want to emboss rather than cut out but I've never used them like that.
You do get all the sizes some sets have 6 but some like the ovals only have 5.

My labels nesties and my new stamps arrived today - will find time to play later maybe but have to go to the dentist first :o.
Cars are expensive nasties mine has cost me about £900 so far this year but its cheaper than a new one - have had new tyres, new ABS rings, new front springs and a bearing and a new exhaust and new wipers  Was worried about driving it for a while but am ok now (just about). OH had a brand new one and it broke after 2 weeks and took 6 weeks to get the bits fortunately it was a company one so he just got a replacement :p.

Thanks paddingtondoo - the other thing that is throwing me is that they come in different sizes ie, small and large. If I wanted to get the large scallop circles and then have a plain circle in the middle of it, would I order a set of small plain circles that will fit inside the scalloped ones, or would I need large plain circles assuming that they are smaller than the scalloped ones?

Sorry for all the questions, but this is all new to me and I get easily confused :o.
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

Does anyone on here use a Cricut?

If so I wonder if you can help me I need to buy a new cartridge and wondered if you have any ideas.

I would love one that has Halloween stuff on but other stuff as well any ideas. Planning on getting hubby to take me to Hobby craft on Saturday so may as well make the hour journey there worth while.

CT Yes they are the ones and you do get all 6 sizes, the picture is a bit misleading cos they are like copper coloured rings and not solids IYKWIM I don't have an embossing mat I think they are to emboss around the edge of the circle just to give more definition, I will get one one day :) Just be careful to use it the right way up otherwise it will mark your C plate. Have you looked at Ikkis blog? I will find you the link

Thanks very much for the advice Flourgirl. I linked to Ikkis blog a while ago, so when I get a bit of time, will read it from the beginning, and see if that makes things clearer.

Hi. Im thinking of starting card making again but previously went down the route of buying loads of stamps which I have realised I dont like using. I find when trying to use them that the cards look quite cheap even when I use embossing powders/watercolour pencils etc..perhaps Im doing something wrong but they all seem to come out looking a bit naff so I cant use the cards. Would like to have another go before I end up selling all of my stamps but not sure where to start. Any suggestions?? (If I do end up selling them (most of them are brand new) is ebay the best option? Thanks all. Great thread.

CT Just do it!! lol once you start using nesties you will want them ALL!!

If you can find a full list of nesties I think it will become more clear :) ie classic scalloped circles large + classic circles large  Its still all new to me but The Wife may be more helpful
