Making Cards - Ideas for a card craft beginner (Part 3)

Thank you all for the ideas about craft knives, I usually use a small pair of scissors, but the card I did last week needed a bit cutting out in the middle (iyswim) and I was a bit stuck for how to do it.

I wish I could use a sewing machine or sew by hand properly (can cross stitch but not do real sewing). I've seen people using a sewing machine to stitch paper and then put it on a card. I'd love to do that

There was one of those mini sewing machines being given away with a subscription to one of the card making mags this month.

It's a rubber stamp that I stuck straight onto an acrylic block but I think it would help if I put some of that foamy stuff on it. Has anyone done this and if so, what's best to buy???

I did see that offer but I will probably be rubbish with it. My mum has got a sewing machine, once the monkeys have gone back to school I may go round and dust it off and try and have a go. My mum and dad will think I've completely lost the plot saying I want to sew paper but there you go :rolleyes:
