I nearly had a heart attack last ngt (not literally), read through all the paperwork from the solicitors, coz of being on legal aid scheme, even though we signed and did all the offical stuff at the meeting, like to check paperwork through, I was in the meeting with him for half an hour, and he has done a letter for the school, the total cost was £483.00 + VAT..........

On a positive note had redone snowball (most prob the 101 times), but added in the money I pay dad per month and accoubted for the table + chairs, its on a 7 month interest free Argos card, but I want to put the money up each month (worked out at £35 pm), but thought if put it on snowball, follow it to the penny), just paid out £65.00 today on debits, nearly there with the 5k, set up the bulk of the others to come out the 16th, then that just leave 1 card to pay, so by the 16th July will of hit my 5k target.

Now decided got to be really strict with myself, need to do a couple of car boots raise some money, now knocked the mystery shoppig on the head, in all honestly since I damaged my knee, can't put any weight on it, on weekly physio they reckon got at least 6 months physio, and I was only getting the jobs that no-one else wanted, and my regular cinema job, when I was due to do April, I had originally said no as I was due to be in Cuba, but the ash-cloud, I was grounded, the account mgr that dealt with the cinema, (the firm has 80 account managers - each have their own clients), he was stranded abroad, another manager got it, so no prob, yep its yours as normal, but never recieved the paperwork, when I queried it, oh we'd given it someone else,ok no probs, be yours in May..... waited - no gone to someone else. But they'd put me on the reserve list, just said thank you but no thank you, it was £10 a month, I know every penny helps, but its just not worth it.
Five yrs ago The jobs I could just cherry pick what I wanted, now theres so many people doing mystery shopping, that they must live on the internet, and be prepared to travel miles, most firms don't allow mileage claims, soe companies have cut back on the fee - one example - previously pub meal for 2 - £20 allowance, then you got paid £10 as well, now that would be £15.00 food allowance, and £0 for the job, yes the lunch is free, but when its another 1hr to put the report through then your working for nought.

At least can concentrate on Open Uni and mum andeverything else and more importantly debt busting.......xx

Hi mum2one...sounds like a good idea getting shut of those things that are too much trouble to be worth it. As you say you can now concentrate on what's important and a thumbs up to the debt-busting.
I set off today to do some shopping and just turned back, I really could not face it. Popped home to have a quick sandwich, which I will point lol and I'm taking the dog for a walk instead, that's my mse day :)
    Every little helps doesn't it.
    Have a good weekend.

Hi Mum, just having a catch up. Firstly big well done on your bingo win, very much deserved. Sorry to hear about your knee, hope it is healing well. Your payments are going brilliantly for the year, you are so close to the 5k now!

What OU courses are you doing now? I was thinking of doing a business management one to go with the law and to complement my job now. Would you recommend any - a level 2 one? xxx

Thank you, getting there slowly, can't believe so close to the 5k, when I was doing the set up of debits, no don't add it till its left the account!!

How are you getting on with the law, bet its keeping you busy, def recommend a business to add in,

B201 - Business and environments - that was more general and globalisation was quite a big factor in the course
    Summary

Business organisations come in all shapes and sizes, and form a central feature of our everyday lives. Our experiences of business organisations vary depending on where we are globally, but we interact with them daily in very personal ways. This course is inspired by the ways in which these organisations are conceived, function, survive and prosper in these turbulent times of the twenty-first century. It is a practical course, grounded in your own experience of business organisations as an employee, customer or stakeholder, and is designed to develop your personal and professional practice in diverse business environments. The course is delivered mainly online.

    The other course
B203 - Business functions in context - more specialed, as you took one area at a time, more structured

    Summary

This course focuses on the essential organisational functions of human resources; marketing; operations management; information management; and accounting and finance. You will examine their key practices, processes and thinking, and their contributions to organisations and their operations – with a strong emphasis on practice-based learning. You will also explore activities undertaken by functional specialists, and develop skills in critical thinking, problem solving, numeracy, and written and oral communication. By the end of the course, you’ll understand how and why distinct business functions have developed and how they are integrated; their structure and operations in different contexts; and their role in organisations’ interactions with their environments

They were both really good courses in their own way, waiting the exam results from B203, but there bringing out a new level 2 course B204, think thats Sept onwards, from memory that wasn't an exam one.

I'm doing BU130,(level 1) which is so boring, you work on your own business and skills how'd you change it, its too much left to your own pace and no real structure, the other one DB234 (level 2) - Money and Investment, thats heavy going, more financial structure, thou I'm doing that for pleasure, its more stocks, shares, posh banking side.

The 2 level 2s, both good courses, but both different ways, out of the 2 would say more business is B203.

    xx

Justfound the B204 -hidden with leadership and management

    Summary

This course focuses on leadership and change practice, and has considerable potential to support employability. Its strong work-based and reflective enquiry component will help you explore how to initiate and carry through improvements and projects in your current work from an early stage. You will also develop skills to enable you to manage your learning in new work contexts. ‘Work’ isn’t just limited to paid jobs. However – for successful completion of this course – it’s very important to be involved in some ongoing project where you can influence others and initiate change.

    Top

Thats the 1st run thats on, but def meets in the middle of the other 2 courses and compliment the law well. xx
