I've read the pros & cons for both these cards. Are people still experiencing problems with the Neteller card as people have reported that the card can take up to a month to set up and customer services are slow to reply apparently?

One thing thing that puts me off is the cancelation fee of this card which is currently £10.

Would I be better applying for the FairFX card even though it charges a 1.5% fee for spending?

FairFX cards are free here... https://www.fairfx.com. If you want to spend on it in Euros, get a euro currency one. There is no 1.4% fee then, like the anywhere (GBP) card. They charge 1.50 Euro for cash withdrawals. There are no dormancy or cash-out fees. Just run the balance to zero (by spending in UK or Europe).

Thanks AJ, unfortunately I just ordered a FairFX card via the MSE link mentioned in the Budget flight fee-fighting guide as the link takes you through comparison site Moneysupermarket, the fee is waived provided you load more than £10.

My intension was to use this card to avoid any charges you incur when paying by credit or debit card when booking with RyanAir.

Is it to late to cancel if you think I'd be better using the link you've posted? I also don't quite understand what you're trying to tell me to be honest. Can you clarify this a bit more? How would the one you've posted benefit me?
  • I am trying to sign up to the FairFX card. However, it seems to be telling me that the minium payment is £50, is anyone else having this problem, is this just when you sign up (which i thought was £10) or is this a general thing?

I have exactly the right amount for a flight purchase on my FairFx card (£219) but my card keeps on getting declined by ryanair. Do I need to add the extra 1.5% to the card to make it work? I'm guessing so.
    Saving for a deposit £16,000 / £20,000 - 80%

Parking might be illegal but I'm not sure even EMA will be able to make dropping off illegal (I'm not sure "illegal" is the most appropriate word -more like "against their rules")

Parking - maybe. Dropping off - never! I'd like to see them try issuing tickets to people who pull up, allow their passengers to disembark, then drive off - all within about 30 seconds, with the car engine left running. If they want to send me one of those tickets, take three guesses where I'd put it!

Remember the perimeter roads around the EMA site are used by employees of, and visitors to, many private businesses, not only the airport.

But if you feel dropping off is worth the £1, then pay it! Don't be surprised, though, when it goes up to £2, then £3, £4, £5...

From a visit the other day, the Airport is now seems to be operating a vehicle registration recording vehicle at chosen spots around the site. I guess you take your chances when dropping off where you want.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned it already, but the "Additional extras" pop ups information is dated June 2010, therefore it's a bit outdated...

    Would be nice an update?

    THANKS!

  • Martin,
Can I just say the thing about being served hotter food and fresher food if you sit at the ends of the aircraft

doesn't really apply because the low cost airlines only serve hot food to order.

it's good of that person to give you tips though
