:money: Martin! Where'd you get that gilet with all the pockets?! :money:
Surely it won't be long before Michael O'Leary is selling those onboard with a dual Samsonite/Ryanair logo!

I also had to laugh after clicking on MSE's link to Seatguru for the best seats. On a 737-800 it suggests that the Row 1 seats next to the front door are good but "proximity of the lavatory and galley may be bothersome" and "it can get cold by the exit door during flight"

Anyone else have any specific recommendations for multi-pocketed garments (with prices/links if possible)? Thanks.

    **LINK**
    with 10 pockets:-
    1 Inside right (135mm x 130mm approx)
2 lower outside half-gusseted pockets*, left and right, with Velcro fastening (145mm x 180mm approx) (* These are gusseted on one side only)
2 "hand warmer" pockets (side opening) behind them.
    1 zipped pocket, right (140mm x 180mm approx)
1 breast pocket, left, gusseted with Velcro fastening (110mm x 110mm)
2 breast pockets (right), one gusseted with Velcro fastening (100mm x 195mm approx) and one outer mesh, Velcro fastened (100mm x 90mm approx)
1 large rear pocket with unfastened access from both sides (500mm x 220mm approx)

Thank you so much for asking this. I was asking the same question!

Is this the one Martin used?

    Thanks

No - Martin's were nicer - with Peter Pan collars and IIRC some zipped pockets. Maybe we should be googling for survivalist 15 pocket vests, as they are from the US. I haven't found any yet.

    I believe I've found it

the cost on the other hand....might be worth paying for the extra baggage!

    www . scottevest . com / v3_store / New_Travel_Vest.shtml

had to remove link due to me being new member
  • On a separate note to the vest buying - wondered if anyone had any luck with cancelling charges when making a mistake when making a booking with easyjet.

I made a flight booking literally 10 minutes ago and was obviously having a dumb moment (I have more per day than I would like to admit) as the booking system confused me. It gave me a page of boxes showing flight times and prices and I picked the flight time for the cheapest price not noticing that they had put the day I wanted as part of 3 days to choose from - the days are in tiny letter at the top of the list of boxes. Honestly, it is confusing! Anyway I'm now going a day earlier than I wanted but when I phoned to change they will charge me £25!
Is there anything in distance selling etc that allows me to cancel within 7 days or change without the £25 charge?? Otherwise I will view the charge as a cost of being stupid!!
  • Over the last three or four weeks both my wife and I have booked flights with Ryanair to travel from our holiday home in Spain back to our house in England and then back to our holiday home.

On both occasions the orices have been quoted in euros, as they used to be, but when payment is taken from Visa card Ryanair convert the euro price into sterling using their own conversion rate. My credit card conversion rate is always the money market rate. When I looked at this in more detail I noticed the following 'extra' charge that results from the Ryanair approach:

At the time of booking the euro to pound conversion rate I would have paid if I used my credit card and paid in euros would have been 0.835. ie eevry euro paid costs me 83.5p. However Ryanair have used the rate of 0.887, so every euro I pay them costs me 88.7p - nearly 0.4p extra and since I think they also apply their conversion rate to any car hire you book with Hertz this has made quite a hidden difference. In my particular case today nearly £2.50. Not the end of the world I know but thought it might be of interest regarding this dicussion.

I spoke to Visa today who confirmed their policy that you should be allowed to choose whether to pay in local currency or home currency of you Visa card. They said they would let it be known across the organisation but I would have to take it up direct with Ryanair. I will but not holding my breath! Simply expecting a response of 'tough' and 'don't forget we are the cheapest'
  • We have purchased the cabin baggage trolley cases within the size allowed by Ryanair. Has anyone had to pay extra at the gate using the cases? as it seems to me Ryanair will get money from you using any tactic or loophole they can!
