I found a few lurking at the bottom of a drawer just before xmas - used them for xmas veg which was delivered on 21st December. Last night we had some of the broccoli that was left (still fresh) and it was perfect and thats 13 days later although we do have a very cold fridge. They will definately be on my list for my next order.

Just re-reading thru some bits & pieces---guess with a bit of sunshine you start to think about salads & such---& stumbled into here.
You folk who use the Lakeland bags....are they any use out of the fridge? I know the ideal answer is to get a bigger fridge, but finances & space put paid to that option:o I bought one of those veggie bags from Bett-eezzee Kleenwhere & it's awful....the carrots went off quicker than if they'd just been left in a veg stand
I suppose I could go shopping for perisables more often in the week, but you know how it goes.....a pound of carrots end up costing a sack of spuds, cabbage, turnips, parsnips, broccolli....Full time Carer for Mum; harassed mother of three;loving & loved by two 4-legged babies.

I haven't tried them out of the fridge but put my mum's in the shed over Christmas but then the veg would probably have kept anyway, being so cold there.
I know what you mean about the cost of veg.........my husband says i buy the most expensive bread ever (paper, bananas, sweeties etc, never just bread)0 -
Are thses bags any good? My local Mr T's had these bags medium and large size reduced to 39p a box. I picked up four boxes but not sure if they are any good. The ones from QVC and lakeland are much more expensive, does this mean they're a lot better?!
Also, how do these work? If I transfer stuff like salad bags and packs of stirfry veg etc into the bags will they keep longer or are they just for whole veg?
Thanks in advance

I can vouch for the lakeland "stayfresh" bags being very good, if yer tight like me they can really make those carrots, brocolli, cucumbers, etc last up to two weeks longer than a normal food bag. The packaging says the plastic used has some sort of organic compound (I forget the exact material) in it that I assume works in the same way that charcoal is used to soak up smells and stuff. and yes they are very expensive so happened to stumble on this thread while searching for alternatives  I will now try and find the tesco alternative @ 39p!! bargain....if it works:A

Hi All
I had a leaflet with my Lakeland order before Christmas and I can't find it anywhere!!!
It was for some free stayfresh bags when you place an order in January. Would anyone have that leaflet handy and be able to give me the code please?
Thanks0 -
I've got a post-it stuck beside my pc which I copied from another thread last week in case I put an order in! Assuming I've copied it correctly, the code for the free stay fresh bags is 19944 and code E18 gives free p&p.LBM 22.12.08 £31,526 Debt at 29.12.08 £30,781 DFW Nerd 1105

Thanks for reminding me. I saw that thread last week and bought some cling film and got the bags, and delivery free.
They haven't arrived yet and I'd completely forgotten I'd ordered them!0 -
Thanks - you're a star
You can also use CRE19 for a free crepe pan if you spend over £600
