Looks like some over-zealous mod with no sense of humour (or who doesn't know how to highlight text!) has removed it. Oh well!
Perhaps it was because it didn't show up as RED they didn't recognise it as yours and make allowances for your SOH.....:D
Couldn't think of anything witty to say so just keeping the space until I can :(

I'm usually against people posting alerts for Gfk, but I've just had loads (and I mean LOADS) of jobs appear this morning. All are jobs that require a credit check. Fee isn't that great, but ok I suppose if you'd be wanting the product regardless...

Thanks for that UKM, but nothing showing for me....

Has anyone else noticed the dropped fee for the french sarnies - or was this spoken about a while ago now and I missed the conversation completely!

Thanks Josie and to the others that have given their thoughts and opinions on this!

So am I right then that if I do a job where it is purely reimbursement (food or goods) that this type of job will always show up as a loss due to travel, parking etc? And if so is that ok??

Correct. Although it's not "ok" it's "fantastic". Any losses that you make, overall, at the end of the tax year, can be offset against the tax that you've paid on your main employment (if you have a "proper job", I dunno??).

    My understnading of this is:

In your main job, you've paid tax on £22k of your wages
In your self employment, you make an overall [paper] loss of £1,000

You'd therefore get the tax back on £1,000, as you've paid that tax in your main job. I'm not sure whether you get the tax back literally as a rebate by cheque, or whether your tax code is simply changed so you pay little less each month in your main employmenet for the next tax year. I suspect you'd get a cheque.

I hope my understnading is correct...really really hope!!

Just had it confirmed that TNS *HAVE* lost the Pizza Express contract. The guy who called me didn't know who they'd gone to now (please not Retail Eyes, please!).

A sad day in the MS world. lol.

They have halved it haven't they? A bit like some of the pub meal jobs that no longer have a fee, just reimbursement. When I queried it with RE they said that the client thought it was enough to be reimbursed. Despite the fact that most of the time it doesn't even cover the cost!!

    Morning everyone

Monkey - I dont know why your post has disappeared but I did see it yesterday but didnt have time to reply ... For a few minutes I did think you meant it  ...and then glad I highlighted the hidden text ... :rotfl::rotfl:! I'm so glad I am still welcome really!

So sorry to hear about your mum HP ... that must be a really really difficult situation. Nooooo definately not another nuclear war on here, I was just asking a new poster here not to make scathing comments .... so please please dont click the abuse button on me or ignore me ..! As you will have seen UKmonkeys post was a humorous one and not serious , although I did nearly fall for it... !

Hope everyone has a good MS day , no work for me today , well no MS work anyway.

Sorry for being thick. I had a bad day yesterday I did an optical visit and they said my vision had deteriorated badly. I was almost expecting them to bring in a guide dog to get me home. ( Can they drive cars btw) Then did a building society. Only skimmed the notes as it looked exactly the same as last one I did. Same company etc to find when I went to do the results I should have had a mortgage so that was a waste of time and petrol.Anyway it is the company starting with International and I only get the odd job so I am not too bothered.

If you use the filter at the top of your available assignments page you can untick the pharmacy option. Then you don't have to keep looking at them all the time;)

I've tried doing that in the past and it's never worked so I give up with it.

However just for fun I've had another go this morning and (fanfare) smiley-vault-character-202.gif it's only flipping worked!!!
    Thank you.

According to HMRC if you get to keep the goods then this is classed as “payment in kind” and therefore is part of the fee for the job.
However if you are asked to comment on the quality of the food e.g. pizza, then this was a necessary purchase and is an expense.
I am also now of the opinion that grocery shopping that needs to be done to assess customer service at the checkouts is necessary purchase so it comes off my taxable income.
Also some on here have admitted they always give the products they get from MSing to charity and therefore are not counted towards the earnings….:A

    Thanks Mharzuk and Ukmonkey,

I recently did a job where I had to buy a quite expensive (in MS terms anyway) item of jewellery. I wasn't allowed to return it and had to buy it to assess the customer service. Of course, I only did the job for the small fee it paid and I'm not sure if I like it anyway ;)
