im a newbie to mystery shopping thanks to this thread and completed my 1st assignment last fri for retail eyes. i logged on today for more work but they wont let me take any stating
"only 1job allocated while on probation"
how long does it take to be able to get another job/off probation.
it says that payment payment.
thanks
You need to wait for them to proof-read your report and "pass" it before you can accept another job. If you did it on Friday it shouldn't be much longer.0 -
I recently did a re-visit on an audit job where the store had not complied 1st time around, and when I re-visited they still didn't have the correct products on the shelf. The company I was carrying out the audit for (who I think cannot be named on here!!) asked me to look to see if the product was anywhere else, which it was, even though the department manager said they had no stock .
I had to go back in and point this out to the manager and ask him to move it immediately, which he refused to do as he said he was too busy. When I told this to the audit company they asked me to go back in the store and move the stuff myself, which I was not prepared to do as it meant moving about 200 bottles of handwash off the self in 1 location, moving it 2 aisles away to another shelf, and then re-stocking the promotional shelf with another 200 bottles of a different handwash. Now they are refusing to pay me, even though there was nowhere on the notes that said you might be expected to move stock around.
As you can imagine I am really annoyed about this and would welcome your opinions. :mad:0 -
Sorry it's not good news, but on most auditing/merchandising jobs, you are expected to move stock if the store is not compliant. Sometimes you can get help from store staff, but often you have to do it yourself. Here I go again on my own....0

I know which jobs you mean and who for ....
I personally think its pushing it asking you to move stock ..... I could imagine them calling security and getting you removed even as although you are acting on behalf of a company I am sure the actual shelves below to the store.... I guess it depends what was stated on the letter of authoity I suppose .... but I dont blame you for not wanting to move the stock and personally think that you should be paid for the repeat audit as thats what youve gone and done , re-audited the location ....
Not much help I know but thats what I think....0 -

I could see myself being marched out of the store and asked not to return, lol.0 -
I must admit I did think this myself, as the department manager was very offhand with me anyway (like it's my fault he's too lazy to do it correctly in the 1st place!!).

If you're going to do merchandising and auditing, you need to develop a very thick skin! Some managers are lovely and will help you as much as they can, but on the other hand some can be horrid and rude with you. I've found you need to be confident and assertive when you're speaking with difficult managers to try and get them to help, but it doesn't always work with the really stubbon ones. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Hey shoppers,
Just did my first assignment today. It wasn't exactly a great success but I guess it takes a few jobs to get into it
Basically I ordered my food but they gave me a large meal instead of the regular...they didn't ask me if I wanted a large one and I didn't want to cause a fuss asking them to change the fries and drinkWill I still get paid?
Also I forgot to get a receipt and had to go back to the counter...I think they may have guessed I was a mystery shopper?!Saving for a deposit: £11,000 / £50,000 (22%)0 -
Some advice needed please......I registered as self employed online on 24/06/09. Should I have heard anything back from them by now?0
