Has anyone given up their "regular" job to concentrate on MSing. I'm fed up with my current position and feel stuck in a rut. Unfortunately my OH is current unemployed so we rely on my wage. I know it sounds absolutely crazy and I probably won't take the plunge as we need some security but I'm wondering if anyone has done it. We are constantly looking at different ways of making money but they are so sporadic that it doesn't entail a regular income.
Hi Creaker, I know how you feel! I have a full time job but enjoy mystery shopping a whole lot more! However, in the current climate I am happy to stay in my job at present as at least I will have a steady source of income. Mystery Shopping can be unpredictable and you are not always guaranteed work.0 -
Hi guys, I have only joined MS sites in last week or so, so have a few questions. Firstly, when I joined GAP there was lots of jobs in Birmingham and I accepted a pizza delivery one. Now it will only let me search in one area of Bham- Kings Heath, where this is only 1 job! I don't know if this is because I have already accepted one job??
Also joined Retail Eye, do I have to search for assignments or will I get emailed? Also not uploaded a photo as yet do I NEED to do this??
Thanks for any help!!

Hi JenSmile - welcome to Mystery Shopping!
RE (RetailEyes) don't email you when jobs are available, you just have to keep checking the website and you will have to complete a probationary job before you will be allowed to see all the different types of jobs. This is usually a pub job or a pharmacy job.
Gap only show the search areas where there are jobs available - so if you can only see Kings Heath, Birmingham then that's prob the only job available in the Birmingham area at the mo (I'm from near Brum too!). Don't worry though, and new jobs become available all the time.
There are some rules on how many shops you can do per client per month but it's usually more than one!TWBM 2010 Wishlist:

Jensmile, could you please remove the pizza company name from your post? I know you are new - but it is not allowed on this forum to mention the client company name.
Welcome on board

I know a smile is minor but it's a bit worrying that you are telling people to lie on the report.
No I didn't tell anyone to lie. I'm sorry but you are misquoting me.
What I actually said was
"I don't claim to represent others on this thread, but personally I make allowances.
If someone who has been on their feet all day, serving the public, doesn't give me a smile at 4pm and everything else is perfect then I report that they smiled."
I haven't told anyone to do anything. I related what I did.
I hope you are more accurate in your report writing0 -
I haven't been on recently as my internet is down and I'm having to snatch moments in wireless spots, so I have to catch up on about 10 pages.
Just a quickie though - Has anyone been paid by MCE for this months' work?
I'm desperately waiting on their money to come through as I paid out a big chunk for the hairdressing job I did for them ... please money, come into my bank soon!Slowly working towards earning enough money (through various ventures) to live unworriedly, treat my family and sleep under a lovely roof. x0 -

I'm very accurate, and what's more, I tell the truth in my report writing :TWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Holly,
Thanks for your help!!
I went into RE and under assignments clicked on 0 Avaliable. It then takes me to a job filter and I ticked boxes and clicked apply. is that what I do to find jobs? i have put in lots of cities I visit in East Mids too but it is still saying no assignments? Is this just because there are actually no assignments or am I doing something wrong?September Ten Pound a day challenge: £10 a day/£300 a month

This is such a helpful forum.
Can we stop letting the nit-picking and point scoring take it over.

If I'm right, I think when you sign up to RE, it takes overnight to update where your areas are. So tomorrow morning you should see a fair few jobs available. It'll say 10 Available or however many it is on the left hand side, and when you click on it, underneath the "apply" box, there'll be a list of all the jobs available. If you PM me your email address, I'll take a screenshot for you of what my page looks like at the moment so you can see what it will look like.TWBM 2010 Wishlist:
