    Looks like the mobile phone shops on bare are the first batch - they are all in locations starting with an A - C. Bet the rest of you glaswegians (and we seem to be over - represented in here, don't we?) grab them when i go talk to my business advisor!

    In the post you refer to I said,
    "If someone who has been on their feet all day, serving the public, doesn't give me a smile at 4pm and everything else is perfect then I report that they smiled." No one paid me for telling that lie, I told it for free to help out a hard working teenager.

    How do you know they've been on their feet all day? They could be part time and just have started at 3pm after lazing about on the sofa all day. We can never assume anything in this job, and just have to report what we have seen on that particular job.

    I know a smile is minor but it's a bit worrying that you are telling people to lie on the report. How far do you go with the lies? What happens if they didn't smile and just said "bye" instead of "thanks and bye". Is two lies acceptable? And so on.

    I did one where the whole shop was perfect but the lad didn't have his t-shirt tucked in. I know it's minor, but I still felt obliged to mark it as no as the company state staff must have their shirts tucked in at all times.
    Here I go again on my own....

    Morning all,

    How was everyones long weekend (sorry people in Scotland!)

    Has everyone got a busy week?Lets hope the September rush begins today!
  • Well, actually getting back onto Mystery Shopping rather than arguing with others, I thought I'd let everyone know that I've released all my Gyp jobs I had planned and don't intend to work for them again after they refused to pay me for an assignment even though it was their error !! I've had enough of them - think I'll only work for the decent companies from now on.

    Has anyone given up their "regular" job to concentrate on MSing. I'm fed up with my current position and feel stuck in a rut. Unfortunately my OH is current unemployed so we rely on my wage. I know it sounds absolutely crazy and I probably won't take the plunge as we need some security but I'm wondering if anyone has done it. We are constantly looking at different ways of making money but they are so sporadic that it doesn't entail a regular income.
  • Morning all - no quote today or yesterday Matt - I enjoy them to start my week off !

    Due to popular demand, this weeks quote;

    Hi creaker. Obviously I don't know what's right for you and if your job is making you seriously unhappy then perhaps you should consider quitting. However, MS is so unpredictable that it just doesn't seem like a good idea to lose your regular income and job security at the moment when it's so hard to find work and your OH is unemployed too. Hope it all works out for you :)

    hi creaker, i have a full time job but i manage to do about £500 every month! if that gives you some insight. i feel if you do it full time u'll be able to take up the jobs even far from work/ home and make about £1000 a month. but I'd bear in mind that it involves uncertainty and ofcourse i feel it is hard work!!! involves alot of travelling and can get hectic!
