elf wot Pigpen says. I would not be inviting them back. When children come here they have to abide by our rules and will get told off just as Miss A and W would if they did something wrong. I have had children sat in the corner when they have done something bad. Likewise I expect them to behave when they are elsewhere and I tell the adult in charge to tell them off if they misbehave.

    ^ what she said! ^

its really not fair on your own lo; I had a friend like this but when she wouldn't make any attempt to tell her kids off, I did - she never batted an eyelid! I gave up on her eventually, it was just too stressful

  • well i don't feel like i acheived much in my HHC, as it just doesn't look like i did anything!

i sorted out the HUGE pile of papers at the back of the sofa
pile to keep(mag recipes and vouchers etc)
    pile to shred
pile to be sorted through and filed away
pile to be recycled - gone out to the recycling already

now i need to go and clean my oven as i sprayed it with stuff this morning and completely forgot about it, also need to find a curry recipe to make for tea tonight!
i have got - curry powder, gram masala, ground ginger, garlic salt, turmeric - is it possible to make a curry with just these ingredients and a tin of tomatoes and some chopped onions??

Elf that is one of my major annoyances in the world. Parents who will not parent their kids.

Well the day is going reasonably well. I have about 90 minutes before the kids and hubby get home and I need to start tea. Thinking of doing kitchen floor and the outside area because there is a big sticky splodge of icecream on the concrete from DD this morning and I am sure one of them will step in it and trod it into the house.

Elf-It is always harder to 'discipline' other peoples children when the parents are there. Especially when the clearly are more relaxed with everything.

Done to 237 except Poohbear - do you feel you deserve a star or not as you've just crossed one thing off your list?

That's a bit harsh Mrs S, flu getting to you:rotfl: The list looks striked through to me and my friend pooh would not ask if she had not done her jobs. Now we will sit together in Pooh corner and poke sticks at you:rotfl:

Back from orhto and a little trip to a few shops in Harpenden. Got something for dinner, shampoo I needed and a birthday card for BiL.

Just having a cuppa and then HHP I think

thanks guys - glad to know its not just me being a little OTT. I guess it boild down to how you were brought up. I was brought up with manners, to be respectful of my things and more so of other peoples so I expect the same of my DS. Her DD is a real drama queen and I hate to say it but I suspect her DS is going to be the exact same. Another bug bear is that they always come here to play and never the other way round.
Its made me pretty miserable and although you are all in agreement with me it somehows makes it worse. Like you are all confirming what I didnt want to hear IYSWIM

I didn't put that right. Clearly I'm ill. I meant the bit about the paintwork

Wipe the paintwork in the hallway and up the stairsNo point as it is still a builder's yard

And she hasn't actually asked for a star. If she'd said she'd substituted that for, oh, I don't know, polishing the paper clips instead, then it would have been awarded no problem :p

I didn't want to donate a star when I wasn't sure she thought she deserved one because she hadn't said it was all done. Neither did I want to donate a star when she thought she didn't deserve one. That probably doesn't make sense either!
