Thanks Skint, KP and Taxi - I 'should' have got my 3 1/2 award ages ago but found it soooo hard since quitting, only really in the past few weeks got back on track. Luckily my meals stayed healthy so the snacks didnt do too much damage!

Buffy - I spend half my life doing sums and messing with the snowball calculator! I like breaking it down into monthly sums as it seems less scary then!

Evening everyone, have been bad again with updating this, in fact I am lurking far too much these days. Need to get back into posting and catching up with everyone as it is so motivating. Had an assignment due in yesterday and have been carrying on with the decluttering of the living room which is going well. It is very nearly done but I am desparate to decorate - that will have to wait until we are debt free though.

DD back to school next week so need to make sure everything is in order for then and see if I can find anything. DS due to start his special school on Thurs but havent heard from anyone about his transition so it is unlikely to be this week. The person from the education is on leave until next week so will chase her up to find out what is going on.

Money wise nothing exciting to report - apart from getting a loan statement and discovering that I have been paying PPI on it amount to over 1000.00 (for a 5k loan taken out in 2005) the loan is due to finish soon and the outstanding balance is not much more than what I have paid in PPI. There is no way I would have agreed to it as my job is about as secure as one can be and if I was off sick I get full pay for 6 months Going to have a look to see if I can reclaim it but no nothing about it so will have to do some reading.

I have joined the challenge to pay off 2 of my debts in 100 days which starts on the 1st Sept so have decided not to overpay any more this month so I can start on the 1st (cheating I know!) Will work out my september target and have a good go at hitting it.

Hope everyone is well, will be back soon with some figures x x x

I'm really impressed by your non-smoking, yes I'm still battling but stories like yours inspire.

Penguin...I agree with the others about reclaiming the PPI...I'm sure Martins article is good..don't know anything about it as never had PPI...but no harm in trying.
You've done well with the weight loss after stopping smoking....I can't stop eating...lol

Thanks everyone, definitely going to look into reclaiming the PPI on my loan - that will be my job to do for tonight - plenty of reading!

Thanks for all the support re the smoking and weight loss as well, it really does help to motivate me so a special thank you to everyone for that.

Well I have started counting up the pots of loose change that have been collecting around the house but I have had to stop because I ran out of money bags and the amount so far is £109.00! I can't believe how much is there - it just shows that it really does all add up.

DS started at his special school this week, he seems to be settling ok but he has been very stressed/upset in the evening and very whingy today so I think the change in routine and new school are stressing him a bit, hopefully he will settle down soon though. I have had no joy in getting him to wear a school uniform or underpants but hopefully that will come in time. I don't want to distress him too much so not pushing it for now.

I am on target to clear my Capital One card (about 600.00) by the end of the month which will be another debt gone - we have a couple of smallish debts (under 2k) left so wanting to get rid of these asap so we can focus on the big scary ones.

Absolutely exhausted and drained this week so going to do an hour or so study as my end of course assignment is due in on the 2nd October, have some tea and work on next months budget (our month starts again on Tues)

Going to attempt to update this more often this month - I keep getting sidetracked by everyone elses diaries :rotfl:
