will this work as full visa debit
    or electron:confused:
    thanks

I asked this question in branch the other day and was told it is a full visa debit card...

The 4751 **** **** **** is also recognised as a full visa debit if you check the BIN number list on wikipedia.

I posted the above re Wikipedia and the 4751 showing as a full visa debit, i've just double checked Wikipedia and can't find the card number 4751 on there now.... ???

I guess the best way to check if its 100% visa debit will be to try it on Tesco Online as discussed above...

    Please post any findings.

You have a full current account right?

If so, post a pic of your card if/when you can. Cheers

My Private Banking one arrived. Quite nice - the VISA Debit logo is all in silver.
Pictures are here - done the pics side by side with the old card for comparison:

The leaflet that came with my card said that I can use it anywhere I see the Visa or Visa Debit logo so I guess it works as a full visa debit card. Neither the card or leaflet mentioned Visa Electron.

If it doesn't have a cheque guarentee facility its a full authorisation card, it says that in the leaflet that came in the statements a few months ago. So it might not work on trains planes pay at pump etc.

However unlike the co-op visa debit which is a disaster, its just visa electron with a different brand on the card, the bin the rbs is not visa electron and should work in places that don't accept electron like tescos online.

The card doesnt look too bad, a bit unusual having the Visa logo top left. Nice big RBS logo splashed on the card.

I can guess what the NatWest Visa Card will look like already - a Visa logo top left and the three arrowheads logo splashed across the card. ;)

The new RBS debit cards look a lot like their credit cards, maybe the Natwest debit cards will have a design similar to Natwest credit cards.
