  • Ohhh I dread the day my metabolism slows down. I love crisps too much, I'll eat myself to death! But I have promised myself that when I get my own place I will invest in a treadmill, I am fascinated by treadmills and used to do running at school so might as well get back into it before I start to put the inevitable weight on.

Love the mystery shopping idea! I've always been quite intruiged by that but have never trusted myself to just go to the one shop you're supposed to, I would use it as an excuse to go on a spending spree! I need more self-discipline don't I :)

If I think about McDonalds now it makes me feel sick. But that's because I'm full. So I'm thinking if I raid Mum's fruit bowl/snack cupboard before I go out every day then that'll take the edge off being so hungry. In theory anyway

That's why McDonalds is so bad for you! Despite the huge amount of calories consumed in a typical meal, you're hungry half an hour later anyway :D

    I always forget that :o
But now I know how much flippin money I spend on the things I will remind myself of this fact whenever a double cheeseburger creeps into my mind...:D
  • Here is my first "non fast food" challenge....

I'm going to my boyfriend's house straight after work tomorrow. This usually results in him not being arsed to cook anything and me being lazy which then leads to chinese/chips/pizza/burger purchases....
    ...but not anymoooooore.
I just told him how much I have spent on food so far this month and have forewarned him that I'm not going to buy any food for the rest of the month. Hopefully this will inspire him to cook us a wonderful healthy nutritious meal (sausages, savoury rice and beans probably, knowing him)...
Anyway, I am waffling, I'm off to watch a DVD with a bag of malteasers (a free bag of malteasers, might I add....thanks Mum ;) )
  • Well I managed to get away with not buying any fast food last night woohooo :j still had a McDonalds though, which my boyfriend paid for (I nearly fell over when he actually offered to pay!!)

I did spent £1.85 on some kitchen towell though...we put the drink on the dashboard and forgot about it, so he reversed out of the parking space and coke went eeeeeeeeeeverywhere. So we raced to the nearest corner shop and I ran to buy kitchen towell to soak it all up. Very funny indeed :)

Today I am staying at home, just had a lovely healthy jacket potato and salad for dinner. I feel great :D

It's funny now I'm doing this MSE stuff...I earned a £10 voucher on pigsback and can't think of anything I want to spend it on! A few months ago I was spending about £200 on Amazon a month buying stupid stuff and now I can't even spend £10 that's free! Daft eh

aah, i'm a bit like that, my thinking on money has completely changed in the last few months! I used to have periods of sensible thinking at uni, but it would all change once I had my grant/loan payment at the start of each term! now it's a permanent thing, woo! I have to say, even though I budget closely, I think most of my money goes on food too! ah well, at least I eat well ;-)

I've got £3 worth of Amazon gift certificate that is sitting there cos there's nowt I want...
  • Lol I like that way of thinking, "at least I eat well" very good

I nearly went shopping today. Well, there is still time but I am resisting the urge. There's nothing I want in particular, I just wanna buy something. Weird eh? Mum has given me a £5 no.7 voucher but I don't need anything so I won't buy anything.

Instead I am doing my washing today. Including those clothes that have sat at the bottom of the washing basket for ages because "I never wear them so what's the point in washing them" how lazy!! I might put some things on eBay too. I've never done that before though so I'm a bit scared.

Ohhhh I bought my first christmas present yesterday :santa2: There's an artist I found on the internet yeeeeears ago who I love. I showed him to my friend and she also loves his work. This artist got together with some jewellery makers and made a really pretty necklace. So there is my best friend's christmas present sorted
*ahem* I bought one for myself too *ahem*
His name is Kurt Halsey if anyone wants to look. The necklace is so cute

Anyway I'm off, I can smell my (free!!!) lunch of scrambled eggs on toast is nearly cooked, mmmmm
  • Hmm....

I am now at my boyfriends house.

On the way, I stopped at Tescos for one of those curry in a bags. They didn't have any so I bought 6 pairs of socks and took £20 out of the cash machine.

Why I did this I do not know?

I need to buy my friend and my dad birthday presents next week so I can use the £20 for that I suppose. But the socks.......I dunno?

    What strange behaviour!?
  • I just had a £10 payout from Lightspeed wohoooooo :j I've asked for it to go to Paypal so should have that in a few days. Very niiiice.

On the money saving front there is not much else to report.

In cat news, I have been bought a MASSIVE dead spider. I'm not talking a house spider, I'm talking you'd-come-across-it-in-a-rainforest spider. MASSIVE!!! I'm glad it was dead, if I'd have seen it alive I probably would have moved out. Oh my god. Huge. Like, it would have fit on the numerical keypad part of a keyboard easily kind of huge. And that isn't an exageration (I have no idea how to spell that word). It. Was. Huge.
No wonder they didn't eat it, yuck.

eek! aah, I wish I had a cat to kill my spiders! I actually have this bizarre recurring dream that I have a cat or a puppy which I then forget to feed, for like days. When I wake up I reassure myself that if I did own a pet I would not forget to feed it, and a cat or dog would not allow me to forget anyway. I hate to look into what that dream means!

Well done on your lightspeed payout! I'm still at about £2. They've send me loads of surveys recently, but they send me them during the day when I'm at work and can't do them, and by the time they get home they are always full so I just get the 10 points. Better than nowt, but I'm beginning to miss my surveys!
