  • Ooo just got to update my sig, my loan payment came out today :j
    It doesn't look like much has come off, but that is because I am including my overdraft as part of my debts. Still, debts have gone down :D

    Yay, the amount is coming down and that's the main thing. Well done on all your moneysaving ways, it's not easy, you are doing well.
    Are the Tesco vouchers due to come in soon? I lose track of when they are due. I never ever spend mine in the shop. I use them for the deals - pay our family RAC membership with them every year so it feels like I'm getting it free. I have over £100 of them saved up now and am planning converting them to the hotel deal to do a weekend break away, not done this before so hoping it will be ok.
    Enjoy your days off you lucky thing.

    So do I! I assume they're being sent out now because I saw a big thick tesco envelope on my boyfriend's doormat.
    I got my last lot in May I think and they come every 3 months don't they?
    I'm thinking of using mine for a deal now too. My cats ran out of meat this morning so I had to buy more with real money...there are dangerous consquences if there is no meat in the mornings! Especially from the kitten - he's a right little chunk, loves his meat :rolleyes:
  • I bought a McDonalds today, boooooo :(

    But we managed a whole day out without spending any other money, yaaayyy :)

    We went to Matlock and wandered around eating ice cream (which I persuaded my boyfriend to pay for, quite an achievement I must say) then we went to a place called Black Rock and climbed all the way to the top. It was very very pretty, we could see for miles and miles and the weather was great. And to top it all off it was free!

    Now I'm back at my boyfriend's house and keep seeing references to chinese food which is making me reeeeeeally want some...can't have a McDonalds and a chinese in one day can I!! Must stay strong......

    Haha my boyfriend did buy me one! He found a tenner while we were tidying up :D
    I showed him my spending diary that I made and he's asked me to send it him. That's a positive thing isn't it, hopefully I can convert him to be a MSE then we can afford to live together again.
    I'm gonna have to go home and eat some healthy food tomorrow - McDonalds and chinese food is all I've eaten today :naughty:
  • Hi everyone,

    2. Boyfriend. I am totally weak here. I buy him little presents all the time, he never wants to accept them but for some reason I just keep buying

    I am completely the same! you see a million things that remind you of them. but he'll probably be 1 thousand times happier when you pick him up in your new car :rotfl:
  • Well the end of the weekend is here. I have spent 3 nights and 3 days with my boyfriend and managed to spend £10!!!
    This is due to me coming up with a cunning new plan...

    Leaving my purse at home!

    We went out on lots of little missions on Friday/Saturday/Today and we usually (read: always) stop at McDonalds and it's usually (read: always) me that pays. But this time because I "forgot" my purse we either waited 'til we got home or my boyfriend bought the food. And we cleverly saved half of the chinese from Friday night so we could have another one on Saturday night.

    I'm quite proud of myself really :) and me rabbiting on about how much money I'm saving has inspired my boyfriend to cut down on smoking so he can save money too :j

    Great success! Hope everyone else has had a lovely weekend too :beer:
  • I have just tried to be clever and work out what percentage of my wages I have spent on each category I have split my spending into (this is assuming I don't spend anymore money between now and payday which is Thursday). So, here we go:

    Essentials = 27.85%
    Debts = 42.86% (this is high because I paid my credit card off this month)
    Food = 5.70% (suprised at this)
    Cash = 4.42%
    Bad = 2% (very very suprised at this, just 2%! wow)
    Savings = 8.84% (this should (and will in future) be the highest!)

    You may notice that that doesn't add up to 100% so my savings percentage should be higher. But I have ignored the fact that I'm in my overdraft to make things easier.

    I've also done a forecast of how much I realistically should be able to save (because again I didn't include my overdraft when I set my £3000 target, tsk tsk) and it's saying £1900 so I'm putting my target down to £1500 to be kind to myself. I've now realised that I have to allow myself to live a little! I can still get a nice car for £1500, and if needs be I can save a bit longer, I just want a new car before my MOT for the car I have now because I doubt it will pass, stupid rust bucket.

    I'm off to change my sig now then
