It must be at least 10 years ago that they introduced paying to park. I remember the first time it happened to me and I wasn't best impressed. Having said that you get used to it, most places charge for parking these days (im not excusing it ofcourse!).
I used to live in Stoke so went to AT on a fairly regular basis (2-3 times per year), having grown up a bit since then I probably havent been in about 7 years now, and don't intend to go again any time soon. Standing in a queue all day is not my thing, though I expect when my daughter is a bit older we will be back :P
Personally I find that Portaventura in Salou is a better park as you are pretty much guaranteed the sun. Or if you don't mind the french Disney Paris. The cost does start to go a bit sky high when you go to the continent though - so maybe £5 isnt so bad? If they didn't charge it for the car presumably they would just put up the ticket cost anyway.0 -
its £5 to park now, or £15 to park near the theme park0

Just to make that clearer, its £5 to park on the main car parks away from the theme park. The car park is adjacent to a monorail which runs into a loop directly into the park. Its a brisk 10 minute walk to the park should you not wish to take the monorail.
It is £15 to park outside the main entrance within walking distance of the main entrance. This is aimed more at those who don't want the hassle of catching the monorail as there is a separate 'disabled zone' for blue badge holders.0 -

I think Disneyland California spoiled me because I found Disneyland Paris incredibly disappointing. The food prices there are the astronomical costs, as well as the fact that its just not as near as good as the original Disneyland. Maybe if I had visited the France park before the California one I would have been happier lol0 -

Explains the jacking up of prices and the raping of customers for loose change :rotfl:0 -
No more than usual, what's your excuse? Do you have your period? :rotfl:
EDIT
I see you've removed your little stamping of feet. Mind if I leave mine that quotes it ? :-)
What on earth are you on about? I removed nothing from that post. If you go back and actually look at it before jumping to conclusions you will notice the omission of a little footnote that states "last edited by pulliptears" i.e I haven't removed a thing

Just bumped in here and made me think that when Old Man had his fridge van, how he would take us kids in back (pre safety and PC days) of said into the local Butlins, on the pretence of checking the refrgieration.
Boy did we enjoy the monorails and rides. And always an ice cream at the end of the visit. God, how we had to enjoy eating the ice cream quickly, cos when he finished his, he just drove off, with kids in the back!
Strange how I can demolish ice cream nowadays in seconds and do the same!0 -

I recall a school trip to a local wildlife park in some old army bus, it had seats for the most part but the back 3 rows were just old barrels and the biggest clamber was to sit on them. Can you imagine the Health and Safety aspects of that now? lol So much fun though!0 -
