They do not just do theme parks though.

Merlin Annual Passes allow entry to Alton Towers Resort Theme Park, LEGOLAND® Windsor THORPE PARK, Chessington World of Adventures, Madame Tussauds London, Warwick Castle and The Merlin Entertainments London Eye, SEA LIFE Centres & Sanctuaries and The Dungeons.
Yes, I know. Season tickets used to allow this *before* the much more expensive Merlin pass was introduced. However, once you've been one to *any one of these* there is little desire to return for many people. I used to enjoy flitting between Thorpe & Chessington Jeff, but when the Merlin passed meant a doubling in cost of our previous season ticket rates we called it a day.

I can't justify £1000 a year for the family to revisit what is mostly the same old tat. It's just not that much fun to queue for the majority of the day for a few minutes ride time. It's just not good value in my eyes.

Everything about these places stinks of rip-off - I'm sorry I don't agree. The gate price, the fastrrack price, the food price, the ride photos and now paying to park.

Merlin did add 'Legoland' but having been there twice this lifetime I can put my hand on my heart and say it was not a good day out. So paying extra for the privilege was no bonus for us.

I'm sorry we disagree. I'm kinda glad they priced my family out of interest in going, it really is a money saver to just say "Yeah, been there, done it, no need to go back." :D

Quite right . It is. .That's why the annual pass SAVES you money from the normal ticket price.

And there you have it - MONEY SAVED.

Is that clear enough for you mr oink?
    Owwww! Handbags!
Only if you have any intention on returning. Otherwise it is an waste of money - is that clear enough for you Mr Bridges? :rotfl:!

There are other ways of visiting the parks on the cheap. Tesco Vouchers, Sun tickets, promotions etc

The parks change from year to year so while you may have been there and done it in 2008 there will be something different in 2010.

whilst you having to pay 1000 for your family there are over 20 attractions in the uk to visit if you include all the sea life centres which are quite educational too and then the theme parks which get at least one new ride a year so even if you visited them just once you are still saving money with an annual pass.

Kinda points to them being expensive in the first place if you need to have vouchers to get in, no?

That's right! Let's take Chessington. There it was telling us it was 'The theme park for families', it upgraded the Bubbleworks and smothered it in Cussons branding and advertising. It removed the MacDonalds and replaced it with a much more expensive Burger King, Gone was the Cadbury Castle, it had been changed to Nestle. The appearance of a stall in the queue for the Vampire ride. But what had not changed was non-operative rides, closed stalls, machinery break downs, non working screens, stall holders trying to pick your pockets to play tat prize games, the awful 'event of the day' - trying to get out of the car park in one piece.

Please don't paint these to be wonderful days out at first class attractions. They are little more than overpriced Gypsy funfairs. Yes, there is some enjoyment - but there is a clear and obvious trend to try and part you from as much of your money as possible.

Sure, there is a notable spend on new rides at some of the attractions. But once you've been dropped, spun, flipped and pulled in all directions once, another 60-90 seconds at the end of a 1.5 hour wait is not really my idea of fun - but I appreciate some people enjoy the experience.

But I would *not* choose to visit them as attractions, so it's a waste to me.

Not in the least thank you.

I'd like to see things from your point of view but I can't seem to get my head that far up my arse. So on that note I'll leave you to your *musings*

You had to make several edits to get your 'insult' right? Bless x x x. I'm sorry you broke your toy and you are bored today. Hopefully you'll remember some other more productive hobby you once enjoyed. You are not very good at trolling and insults :rotfl:
