Seller underpaid postage?

Absolutely agree. Her responsibility to ensure postage is correct. Things can go wrong but sellers should sort this out and buyers should not end up out of pocket.
If she does not agree to refund other ebayers need to be told by giving a neg - this is what feedback is for!0 -
Get in touch with the seller firstly. It may not be her fault. I recently had a buyer get in touch with me to say they had been charged £5.44 to collect a parcel due ,to apparently me ,underpaying on the postage but I had paid the correct amount and after querying it with royal mail they admitted it was their error and refunded the £5.44 for me to pass on the the recipient of the parcel.pinkfizz77 wrote: »Had a fee to pay note put through door today, paid it online not really knowing what it was. Checked on Ebay and it must be a shrug I bought my dd (only other item I'm waiting for is a huge parcel but note said small packet). Total price on Ebay was £1.40, has cost me £1.69 to get it redelivered! Will obviously have to wait until it is redelivered to make sure it IS the shrug but what do I do if it is? The unpaid postage and handling charge is more than I paid in the first place, and the seller will be totally out of pocket if she refunds me.
My logic is that it is her fault for not paying proper postage but I feel kind of guilty at her actually losing money on the sale!
Is it unfair to expect a refund? I'll obviously contact her once I've got the item but what can I do if she refuses?
ETA: seller has 100% and 38 feedback, been on since last Oct, was free postage and seller has on listing "SOLD AS SEEN SO NO RETURN OR NEGATIVE FEED BACK.PLZ"0 -
I had a seller who seemed to make a habit of underpostaging their stuff. I got one of these stickers (luckily our posties don't make us pay them) so I contacted the seller to let them know and they said that it should have gone as a letter and that it always does.
Sure enough there was a normal letter stamp on it.
The items were heading for a packet size! I guess they get a lot of that kind of complaint, but they still end up in profit for when they do get away with it.
And they'd already overcharged on p+p and refused to give a postage discount on 99p items (registered as a private seller but selling only sealed items  )This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine:kisses2: Fiancee of the "lovely" DaveAshton :kisses2:I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine.0 -
Parcel received this morning (well technically yesterday morning but you know what I mean lol)
Was the item I thought it was, sent seller an email explaining about the charge I paid and have had no reply yet. Didn't demand a refund or anything (yet;)), just explained about the charge basically.
Postage attached was a 1st class stamp!!!!!! How could that be deemed enough to send a cardigan?? Definately package and not letter grr
Just noticed she's sold a few items recently, some for free postage and only sold for 10p!!!! Wow she's gonna lose out on those ones, would that even cover sellers fees?
Oh well shall see what she comes back with, if no message by tea time, shall email again asking for a refund.0 -
I feel sorry for her losing money but really if she is offering free postage she needs to start the item at the very least at the cost of postage. End of the day its not your fault that the item didn't make enough to cover her costs. She chose to start the item at a low price. If she doesn't respond I would leave her negative stating the facts that she posted it with a 1st class stamp and you had to pay extra. Its irrevelant if she deserves it as its a warning to other buyers to be aware if they buy something it might end up costing them more than they pay0

I guess some people are just not cut out for anything so taxing as posting items correctly. I received an item last week and every single line of the name and address had a mistake in it. From my name, name of my road to my postcode having a letter missing out of it! How???0

working at royal mail there has over the last six months been a major purge on anyone underpaying on any item, competition brings competitiveness, meaning the things royal mail overlooked in the past is being clamped down on forth with, this is actively encouraged amongst staff to weigh everything with stamps on as counters staff have printed labels as do paypal & are rarely incorrect,0

can an internet purchase be "sold as seen " its not like you can inspect it .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Unless other stamps have come off it does sound like she has been trying to make extra profit by not putting the correct postage on it. Unless its a dolls cardi, no sane person would think 1 first class stamp would be enough!2023 wins - zilch, nada, big fat duck. quack quack,0
