I have no money so this shouldnt be a problem.

Also I like the idea of

Used some things up already!!! Of course, I was working through them during the last challenge! :D

    Philosophy The Great Mystery 8oz
Gatineau Melatogenine Futur Plus Eye Concentrate 15ml
Body Shop Moringa Body Scrub 200ml

Moving onto the NAKED Body Scrub I bought the other day when it was on BOGOF in Boots recently and an Olay facial wash to replace the Philosophy

Tonight will use up the last bit of Philosophy night cream and I think that is all the Philosophy skincare gone now. Used some and sold some on ebay. Won't fall for that again via QVC. This time last year I had bags full of Philosophy stashed away in the wardrobe.

10 months later it is all gone (bar two lipglosses, one I use everyday, one spare) with just one little kit to sell on ebay of things I don't want to use up anymore. I didn't add to it!!!!!! One brand dealt with now onto the next one :D

I found listing what we had used up wvery cathartic and when I list it all at the end of the challenge I can't quite believe how much I have used up and how much I had stashed at one time. I think it will still take until next year to get to a point where I have one or two things spare rather than 10.

Getting there slowly and surely. In the 10mths since I first found the challenge I have made many changes, very difficult they have been, getting a little easier now at long last :D

My plan is to now avoid Boots etc and the skincare/haircare isles in the supermarkets to not see any "bargains" !

Have just explained to DH about the 100 day challenge. Thinks it's no problem for me to stop buying cosmetics - but no shoes!! Everytime he looks over at me now he cracks up with laughter.

Oh well, 2 days in and still on track. Even more determined to do it!:D
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

Hi Everybody, I've always missed the start of the previous challenges but would like to join this one if that's ok? I'm going to give up: Books, Magazines, Pringles and Toiletries. As I don't have a massive stockpile of toiletries as it sounds like some of you do, I'm allowed to buy essential stuff like shampoo if I run out, but nothing else! What's the end date for this?

    Hi Tete en l'Air,

The start date is 1 Aug and end date is 8 Nov

You can join anytime you like and just stick to what you want to control, doesn't have to be toiletries at all. Plus we allow ourselves to buy something when we have run out or are about to!

  • Right, after spectacularly falling out of the last one I am back for this one (and very much need to stick to it as I have handed in my notice at work with no job to go to )

I know that this challenge started yesterday but I didn't buy anything off my veto list so will count my start as yesterday, I will be giving up:

-Toiletries, cosmetics and other stuff like that (unless replacing something that has run out)
-Stuff for the kitchen (except food - we all need to eat after all)
    -Decorative tat for my flat
-Clothes (there are one or two bits that I need for weddings but that will be on a strictly vetted basis and I will 'fess up on here)
    -Accessories
-Shoes (unless I am replacing staple shoes, no 'fun' shoe purchases)
    -Magazines

I like the exercise committment but I know that I would fail and get really frustrated

  • Would love to join this challenge - just what I need! Have just had to change my log in details cos 'real life' people were knowing to much about my finances - if you know what I mean but have been around on these forums for a while.
    Anyway - enough babbling!!
Between now and Nov 8th I WILL NOT buy:
    1) Cosmetics
    2) Toiletries
    3) Shoes
    4) Clothes
    5) Chocolate
    6) Magazines/books
Wish me luck!! I won't last without buying shampoo and conditioner but should have enough Boots points to not have to actually pay for them!
