This happened to me when I first started couponing (although I don't know what the barcode began with). I had bought the product and packed it away but the SA was being difficult about the coupons I had. She tried this particular one (I think it was for a free smoothie) and said it wouldn't scan so she wouldn't take it. I asked if she was able to input it manually but she wouldn't. I said it was ok, unpacked my bag and gave her the bottle back, saying I would leave it:cool:. She then said she'd try it again and ... lo and behold .... it scanned!:rolleyes:0 -

Got a reply from Oink today :-
Tim Andrews, Aug 11 10:28: Hi xxxxxx,
Thanks for your message. I am sorry you experienced a problem redeeming your SmartCoupon. It is unusual to have difficulties with coupons being accepted and so we're investigating this with the retailers to see if there is a system problem. One other possibility is that the code on the printed coupon could not be read clearly, so I'd also like to check this. Would it be possible to send me your coupon to the FREEPOST address below:

Kind regards,

vikki_louise wrote: »sorry im new to the whole coupon thing. where does everyone get theirs from, this list, another website or another section? I feel like im going round in circles and not sure how people find so many coupons relevant to what they are buying. Any advice would be appricated. Sorry if this has been asked before 42 pages is a lot to read through!
'coupons relevant to what they are buying' - what does that mean then?!
We don't generally use coupons that are relevant, we use them as cash against any shopping. That's what this thread is all about, see the first few posts which explain that you can do this in Tesco and Waitrose stores (only)!
Anyhoo, main places I get my mocs:
- Here on this thread - print them all, and the PDFs ad infinitum (until expiry)
- Magazines (see the magazine thread by MBN on this board)
- Newspapers (see the daily newspaper thread started by quoia, usually)
- Products like Nestle pikapaks, Finish Rinse Aid, Alpro Soya milk have mocs at the mo
- Sampling stalls in Supermarkets (Sainsburys is good if the mocs aren't store-specific)
- other roadshows & festivals (Alfresco roadshow is touring at the mo, then GFS in Nov)
- swapping coupons on www.paidtoshop.co.uk once you're an active member
- buying coupons on eBay (pay about a third, check they are in-date NSS originals)
HTH - regular couponers please add more places if I have forgotten any!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks tescoisace...:D
I just remembered, I would also add to the list, registering with food product websites to receive emails - sometimes there's a moc emailed to you which isn't generally available on the website.
I look out for firms doing an advertising campaign at the time (i.e. anyone with an advert in Tesco or Sainsburys or other Supermarket mags, or with a current billboard, TV or newspaper ad, or anyone doing a sampling tour at the moment). Other ad campaigns often coincide with an emailed moc.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
