Surely you are joking? I have never seen a store where they don't put coupons into the till or straight into a pod for the cash office.

Forgive me for asking all these questions, but how do you know someone used over a thousand pounds worth of coupons in a week? Are you staff at that store or something? Whether you are or not, shame on the staff for allowing it to happen. Dumbest thing I have read on here in ages.

If this is true, it sounds like staff coupon abuse to me, if it has really got that rife in that store (how else would it catch on, other customers never follow suit that quickly from other couponers).

Even when I explain a bit to interested customers they never get it - and I never give it all away either, except to neighbours & friends. There's no way info about specific coupons like these would pass that quickly from starnger to stranger - except on t'internet (countrywide) or between colleagues (at that store).

absolutely true they put them on the little shelf behind them inbetween tills have seen pile of them presumed this was normal, i am not staff but live nearby and everyone in the local villages knows, its old mining communities everyone knows everyone doesnt take long for the jungle drums to rumble a lot of local people work in there, a friend of mine has shown me in there spare room which is piled high with beer, spirits, and other high value items they have been going 5 or 6 times a day going round 2 or 3 times a trip and theres two of em, doesn't take long to amount up easily over a thousand pounds worth, and i agree i am shocked at the staff for allowing this to happen cant imagine they are ever going to be refunded for the coupons they have accepted, i called in the other night to pick something up and there where 3 tills open it was late at night there must of been 30 people at each till all paying by coupons the dvd and beer aisles where empty. they had said the other day that anyone seen going in more than once would be banned but i have seen people bringing crates of beer out to the car and going straight back in no problem.

When I read the post to which u replied CM I thought the same... this is staff using and abusing the Coupon Policy... and, generally, even @ a coupon friendly store this is bound to have repercussions...:( this is, definately, not good news... I don't mean to offend T's genuine staff who visit/contribute on this forum with what I'll say next but coupon abuse is most seen @ staff levels where 'I know u, u know me' takes place & often it becomes out of hand... also some T's staff r all too keen on pointing a finger on a cmr that visits a store a few times a wk & uses coupons... these cmrs r known @ a store level... 4 this much of coupon abuse 2b happening @ this scale it's coming from within... Coupons not being put in the tills?!:eek: But this is taken as a form of payment (like cash) & why would anyone not put them in the tills? What stops anyone re-using the vouchers again & again?:eek: Quite scary... I, personally, find it hard to believe this is taking place... no offense intended...:o

When I first started lurking on this thread I was a bit envious that I wasn't getting as much off my shopping as everyone else was. But thinking about it properly I'd rather stick with my £2 - £5 per week and keep a low profile. To be "black marked" at my local Mr T's would be awful and I would hate to think I had risked my couponing (and anyone elses) by getting carried away with it all.

Please don't take offence at my post, I'm just voicing my thoughts.

i'll say no more on the subject now as there has been a few people saying this cant be true, and i didn't come on here to defend myself. i'm sure this wiil eventually make bigger news though as the store is bound to lose out big time.

  • I just printed a £5 voucher for Hills Dog Food but don't think T's stock it, also prints as a safe coupon, doesn't have a proper barcode, any ideas?
