hi all

i work on the checkouts in tesco. y'day there was this msg on the team 5 and a msg popped on the screen too when logged on to the system. it says coupons beginning with 991 - 999 should not be accepted as they are invalid.

i was so down when i saw it coz with out coupons everything is so damn expensive.

checked with the manager and she was like all those coupons are being forged and doctored so cant take them. assumed she knows nothing. coz i am signed up with so many manufacturers and the coupons sent by them are what i use, so those coupons cant be wrong.

i guess the issue is to put an end to the coupons from other supermarkets like the somerfield ones... they scan fine in tescos but they are not to be used coz they are for individual items, not overall shopping. there are people who bring those coupons from that store and when i say no i cant take them they leave the shopping and walkout. am sure they go to some uninformed sa and use them later.

but if the coupons beginning 991 - 999 are barred in tescos i can only save 30 p from kallo coupon and nothing else

any one knows anything else? please update.

It's mentioned on this thread somewhere already, this week. The coupons - for you as a cashier - not to accept are those starting from 992 onwards I think.

990 and 991 are OK (which includes all those we have I think).

The reason is that some scammer had produced high-value printable fakes which were scanning but were counterfeit. On www.paidtoshop.co.uk, a Tesco employee at one of the main affected stores asked 'are these fakes'? We said 'yes' and the next thing we heard is that T have issued that notice to stores. Maybe PTS helped them to act quicker, who knows?!

Good to know all of you are ordering GFS tickets with CC voucher and I too was planning to do so ....Are you all going to London one or the Birmingham one....???? Which one will be better....???

Actually London is near to me than B'ham....but was thinking which one to choose..??? Any opinions please..???

just to let you no had another brill shop day but that was the last of my lidl coupons , i havnt got any to pass on am all stocked up and looking 4 more new coupons thanks again to every 1

I've never been to the London one so I can't comment on that one but the Birmingham one was good in the spring but the one last fall wasn't very good, not many coupons and not very many vendors. I recommend it though as it is a great day out and coupon hunting is fun. Be sure to take a suitcase on wheels though, if the coupons are anything like in the spring, you'll definitely need a case on wheels!
