Feeling a bit upset by an experience in my local T's earlier today.

Also they'd been told that no vouchers could be accepted if they started with 90 up to 99. Not sure what that means, as all the ones I used today have scanned fine.

Seems we have a male would-be trout in my local, and it's not a nice feeling to have a brush with him, I can tell you...

It won't put me off, as I can't afford not to use them, but I don't know why some of them have to be so horrid, when others are so proactively positive about it.

Sorry about your experince - you won in the end though and he's probably got severe indigestion after his hissy fit.

I'm a bit worried about the comment re 90 - 99 barcodes though as , if they exclude 99 cosed then we are all basically stuffed !!!!

Thanks to all who have helped re the Cafe Direct multi page but they are all set out on single pages when I open up the attachment.
I have it saved so single printouts will just have to do.

    Appreciate all your help.

Feeling a bit upset by an experience in my local T's earlier today.

Went armed with all my MOCs as usual. As my son is going off back to uni very shortly I'd done my homework in advance to make the best use of my MOCs (I'd made a list of all the things I wanted to buy, then looked on the T website to get the prices, then worked out how much I could fit within my MOC budget without having to hand over too much hard cash !)

Got to my favourite SA's checkout & unloaded. No sooner do I reach the till than an older "gentleman" comes up to take over from my favourite.

I've been to this older guy's till before in the past with no problem; however, just lately (call me paranoid !) whenever I've seen him in the shop he's scowled at me and made me feel very uncomfortable.

Anyway, as my friendly SA left the till, he said to the grumpy gent "you'll need your hand scanner, she's got loads of vouchers!" Grumpy just grunted.

Throughout the whole transaction he said nothing and didn't manage eye contact. He tried scanning my Lidl voucher, then after the till beeped and he examined the voucher, he literally threw it across the till at me, saying "well that just isn't going to scan, you can hear the till beeping - and anyway it's for LIDL, so of COURSE we don't take it".

I remained calm, and pushed the MOC back to him, and pointed out that the voucher had been accepted earlier in the week as it was a week-long promotion. He shrugged and said, "well it's not going to scan so we can't accept it".

I bit my tongue, then asked him to call the Supervisor just to check, as I knew the voucher had to be put through as a special item (non scan I think). He shrugged and lit his light. When the supervisor arrived she confirmed what I'd just told him.

He didn't even look at me then, and certainly didn't attempt an apology. All he said was "I'll do that one at the end".

My shopping came to just a few pence (as I'd planned), and he managed to mutter the total through clenched teeth (his mouth looked like a dog's bottom by this time, and his face was a kind of puce colour).

I thanked him and went on my way, but felt very unsettled by the whole experience.

Anyway, later this afternoon, I went with my daughter while she bought herself a sandwich in T's. We managed to go to my favourite SA, and he told me that as soon as I'd left the store, the elderly gent had exploded in a complete hissy fit, saying that what I was doing was fraudulent and completely immoral, and that I had no right to do it.

The SA (who's completely on my side, and always asks customers if they've got any vouchers to use) couldn't understand what he'd got so worked up over - he agreed with me that a great many of the staff use vouchers, and that loads more customers are using them in these credit crunch times.

On another note, he told me that their Team 5 bulletin (some kind of internal newsletter I think) today had told them they could no longer sell giftcards in return for vouchers. Also they'd been told that no vouchers could be accepted if they started with 90 up to 99. Not sure what that means, as all the ones I used today have scanned fine.

Seems we have a male would-be trout in my local, and it's not a nice feeling to have a brush with him, I can tell you...

What a miserable old git!:D Next time he is like that just say to him, "I hope you break down at 2.00am in the morning, in the middle of nowhere and the Fleas of a thousand camels infest your armpits":D That usually upsetts them. Then just smile sweetly and say goodbye.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Also tell him he really should should do something about his hemeroids if they are making him so miserable:eek:

Sorry I know I am a bad girl sometimes but it isn't coming out of their pockets!

Please don't let it put you off, we do get these trouts from time to time and your skin does get thicker!;)

Hmmmmm....but if stuck in a field you would miss any trade stands - the coupons and samples!

Isn't that the ONLY reason to go to an airshow? It's the reason I dragged my family to the local Airshow - didn't tell them that though, I had a cunning plan.:D I came up with some old story about watching some aeroplanes and they fell for it. Until they found me in the Alpro Soya tent!:rotfl:

Sorry, I don`t dare... we go with some mates, who stay with a guy who`s a local councillor, and he lets us use a particular field, which I don`t dare tell anyone else about, as it`s not common knowledge  having said that, we do go into the show itself as well, as I love looking around all the stands- yes, it`s expensive, but well worth it! We also go to a couple of free airshows, the most recent being the one in Swansea- very good it was, too!!!! Farnborough is another I will be adding to the list- it`s every other year.
